We loved Venice and wish we could've stayed longer. This room was clean but somewhat noisy as it was on a busy pathway. It was confusing .... click here to readmore >> We loved Venice and wish we could've stayed longer. This room was clean but somewhat noisy as it was on a busy pathway. It was confusing that the room was located across the street and down a ways from the hotel itself where you check in. My husband rang the bell at the address and someone came down to show him the way up to register. He then came back with the key. While I waited for him, someone went by and said "Are you staying there?' and gave a disapproving look. That worried me a bit, but the room was very clean. We had a nice but very basic breakfast included across the street and up several stairs to the hotel.We had little contact with the staff other than check in. The room was close to everything and very clean but as I said, very very basic. We really enjoyed our stay in Venice and a frilly room was not necessary as we spent very little time in it anyway. Oh, and nice large bathroom and shower area.My husband and I traveled with our sons 18 and 21 and 3 beds were available. << click here to read less

The climb up to the hotel up several flights of stairs is not for the faint hearted carrying cases, but during normal hours somebody is usually on hand to carry bags. What a lovely old building, the hotel was a real find and I have no doubt that we will return. << click here to read less

Having said this having climbed the three flights of stairs the reception area was fine and the greeting very warm. The room was not quite ready so we were shown to the terrace area where we enjoyed a couple of very welcoming beers. Staff could not do enough for you. Our room was in an annex further down the street where the porter escorted us. It was a delightful room, having a six foot wide bed, large sofa, desk and chair, en suite bathroom and excellent wardrobe facilities. Breakfast was served in the main hotel on the terrace area. Whiulst only a buffet breakfast it was substantial and very pleasant. All in all a nice experience which we would like to repeat in thew future << click here to read less
