The Gabrilelli Sandwirth is the first Hotel I have stayed in where the consierge opens the room and runs away before you see what you have. The hotel has one room as per the pictures on its website (room 335), the rest are bvery small, very old and would only be rated around the world as 2*. We complained and eventually were so called upgraded to one of the better front rooms which I would grade as 3* based on years of business travel to locations all over the world. The consierge was helpfull if not embarrassed at the obvious short comings of the rooms they offer. The restaurant and breakfast courtyard were good, but breakfast is a limited selection buffet of cold items and the standard Venitian stale bread. Venice itself is a wonderful place, especially St Marks square late evening with the orchestras outside the Cafe's. The restaurants have little care for good quality food, so be careful to look at the internet recommendations for restaurants and book them in advance (its really worth it), but expect to pay circa 70 Euros per head for a good meal. Venice was wonderful but the the expensive hotel didn't live up to expectations. Read Less
