About the Expo Hotel |
|
 |
| |
The Expo Hotel is situated in Valencia, Spain. It is merely a 7 km drive from the airport. There are bus and train services within easy reach of the hotel. Quite fortunately for tourists the Expo Hotel Valencia is found in Nuevo Centro, one of the trendiest commercial areas of the metropolis and just a short distance from the Recinto Ferial y el Palacio de Congresos.
Several outstanding museums in the city such as the Museo de Bellas Artes and Instituto Valenciano Arte Moderno, which are widely considered as some of the best in Spain should be visited. The large complex which is devoted to science and the arts, Ciudad de las Artes y de las Ciencias, is also certainly worth a visit. The hotel also boasts lounges, a swimming pool, and garage. Provision is made for comprehensive conference facilities that can accommodate well over up to 1,000 delegates. Other services include secretarial services, currency exchange, internet access and telephone which are available on request.
There are 378 modish and well equipped rooms with an external facade and a lounge. All rooms have remote controlled air conditioning and heating and have a private bathroom, satellite TV, work desk, dressing room, mini bar and terrace.

Excellent accommodation good food efficient friendly English speaking staff. Outside the tourist area but easily accessed via nearby metro which also links to the airport for about 1.80 euros. The adjacent Turia gardens are a bonus for walkers and cyclists which dissects the city and ultimately [for the more energetic] which accesses the state of the art museum, and port area and further onto the the beach, which has a handy metro stop for those of us who overdid the walking, to return to the hotel. The hotel was good enough for its purpose - somewhere to sleep before heading out all day to discover Valencia. It is very close to good transport links to the centre, the City of Arts and Science and the beach. Otherwise, only a 20 minute walk into the old town.
The rooms are a decent size and the bathrooms were very good for a Spanish hotel. Redecoration is perhaps desirable but not essential.
The breakfast was good (not "amazing" like some of the reviews I read!) with a wide choice.
It was a cheap and cheerful alternative to the pricy city centre hotels.
Don't rely on the hotel for a wake-up call - 2 days running they failed to wake us - just as well we did not have an early morning flight!! Read Less |

THe breakfast was superb - in terms of the range of offerings and the price.
The location was excellent - central to the cities main attractions. Turia Park very close - a great way to move through city.Surroundings were just average - typical city streetscape.
Very litle street noise made it into the hotels. However, poor sound-proofing between rooms. Not a problem for us as we had last two rooms at end of corridor, but would have been an issue if we'd had noisy neighbours. Read Less |

Located right next door to a big shopping centre, this hotel offered good facilities including a rooftop pool for an excellent price. The breakfast was a substantial buffet, the piano bar was open until gone midnight and all in all the hotel way exceeded our expectation for the price we paid! Taxis are easy to come by and cost around 8? in to the old part of town - we would have walked but sadly it poured with rain the entire time we were there (in late May!). Read Less |

This hotel is in a very convenient spot for shopping and eating out, being just about 2 minutes walk from a large shopping mall, where you can find all the fast food outlets..ie: Burger King, Subway and Mcdonalds.
There is also a very nice 'Hollywood" restaurant there we enjoyed a nice meal for 2 people there of a main course each 2 coffees and 1 beer for 20euros.
The hotel itself was very pleasant, I would say the only downfall was not having balconies, but being as its a city hotel, understandable.
The staff are very polite and helpful.
The mini bar was well stocked, though expensive.
I would definitely go back. Read Less |

Location near Turia gardens and metro was excellent.Breakfast one of the best ever and worth every penny.
In March it was deemed unnecessary for air con and due to warm weather nights were too hot.Opening windows in a city hotel backing onto a shopping centre/car park or main road meant ear plugs were a must.
Breakfast staff were a little too enthusiastic and tables were cleared whilst refilling coffee.
If revisiting the city would not hesitate to stay here again but would choose a time when air con was working. Read Less |

expo hotel was absolutlly brilliant, tv, mini bar, hairdryer, toiletries, clean, extremely helpful staff & a small box of complimentary choccies on our departure. Just outside the Turia metro station, & the Nuevo shopping centre, minutes from bus stops, & at 6.00am it took us 8mins. in a taxi to the airport. This hotel is situated in an ideal location. Not only is it right in the middle of the Neuvo Centro which is one of the biggest shopping centres in Valencia,it is very central to everything. Down Town is only a 10 minute bus ride away and the main tourist sights i.e. L'Ocengraphic, Science Musuem etc is also 10-15 minutes bus ride away. There is also another big shopping centre nearby called El Saler in Carrefour.
I would definately recommend this hotel if you are looking for somewhere central to stay.

Although the beds and pillows were comfy, the rest of the bedroom (including the bathroom) definitely needed a complete refurbishment and redecoration.
It looked like the cleaner hadn't checked under the beds for months, as evidenced by all the dust and an old pair of trainers.
There was no terrace and no safe, two of the reasons I booked the hotel.
On the plus side, the roof terrace bar was enjoyable, although it wasn't open every night. Expect to pay a premium for your drinks there (over 12 euros for a beer and whisky & coke).
I would say the Expo is more 2-star than 3-star. And the location isn't great, either. Wouldn't stay there again. Read Less |
