A `Church of St Denys` certainly existed there by 1154 and parts of this Norman church can still be seen in the present building which also contains one of the finest collections of medieval stained glass in York. A full English breakfast is freshly cooked by the hotel`s resident chef and served in the bright and comfortable dining room. A licensed bar provides a wide variety of drinks to suit all tastes.
