The Champs Sports Bowl is a much anticipated encounter of college football in vibrant Orlando. Adding to the cities carnival atmosphere this much anticipated encounter takes place on December 29, 2006 at the infamous Florida Citrus Bowl Stadium. The Citrus Bowl Stadium kicks off its celebrities with the Champs Sports Bowl closely followed by Orlando’s Capital One Bowl Match and Fan Fair on January 1st 2007. Be a part of the carnival atmosphere as you enjoy some of the best action in college football when the Atlantic Coast Conference (one of the country’s oldest athletic leagues) takes on the Big Ten Conference. The Champs Bowl proudly boasts of being the only bowl match-up amongst the ACC and Big Ten and promises one of the most interesting football matches of the season.
The Champs Sports Bowl began in 1990 as the Blockbuster Bowl played at the Pro Player Stadium in Miami Gardens Florida, also known at one time as the Sunshine Classic the game was moved to sunny Orlando in 2001. This was a change for the better as Champs Sports took up main sponsorship of the event compelling comprehensive backing from Florida Citrus Sports, this saw the game soar in popularity over the coming years and remains to date one of the most anticipated college football matches in the country.
