An annual college football game played in Orlando is known as the Capital One Bowl. The venue is the infamous Citrus Bowl Stadium. A much awaited event the Capital One Bowl’s New Years Day match brings in over 70,000 fans from around the country bringing about a carnival atmosphere to the entertainment capital of the country-Orlando. Join in the celebrities as vibrant Orlando comes alive for the best in college football as the Big Ten take on the SEC at the Citrus Bowl January 1st 2007, but first not to be missed is the extravagant Citrus Bowl Parade which will be held on December 30th it is here that by tradition Capitol One’s new mascot for the coming year will be unveiled.
The Citrus Bowl has been the venue for college football since 1947, with the game being officially called the Capital One Bowl in 2003. The bowl grew in popularity with matches against Southern Schools from 1968 favourites being the Ohio Valley Conference champions. The present line up consists of the South-eastern Conference and the Big Ten Conference which today is one of the country’s most competitive matches.
The games popularity in Orlando has resulted in the whole event being one big celebration. The Citrus Bowl gears up for its thousands of fans with a Fan Fair featuring interactive games, exhibitions, food stalls and even a free shuttle pick up from certain points of the city.
