What would the alligator capital of the world be without Gatorland. This 110 acre alligator theme park and wildlife preserve is centrally located very close to many of Orlandos famous theme parks. Opened in 1949 as a roadside alligator attraction by Owen Godwin the park has grown to become a haven for hundreds of species of crocodiles and alligators.
The main attraction here would be the Breeding Marsh formed in a natural Cyprus Grove and full of ferocious sun bathers. You may get up close and personal to the adult gators as a wooden boardwalk is provided for a close encounter while the observation tower offers breathtaking views of the whole park.
Check out Jungle Crocs of the World photo exhibition for a variety of poses (of the scaly kind) and hundreds of species of crocodiles and gators. For added adventure the park features Gator Wrestlin and also throws in the chance for you to have your picture taken with an alligator, baby gator and yes a boa constrictor.
The Jumparoo is the parks daredevil show where alligators jump up and grab a bite of chicken from a feeder. Of course the alligators are not the only ones fed here, you can check out the delicious snacks available at the rustic Pearls Smoke House.
