About Shaftesbury Theatre London Known as the Princes Theatre when it first opened in 1911, the Shaftesbury Theatre as it is called today is the creation of well known designer Bertie Crewe. Apart from this Edwardian style theatre’s charming atmosphere, visitors who step inside will also find 5 bars and a spacious air conditioned auditorium which is spread across 3 levels, with a seating capacity of up to 1,389 people.
Throughout its proud history the Shaftesbury Theatre has been home to both crowd pleasing and critically acclaimed theatre productions such as “Hair”, “Rent”, “Umoja”, “West Side Story”, “The Kiss of Spiderwoman”
