About Palace Theatre London Rising above the Cambridge Circus landscape in all its glory is the 5 storey Palace Theatre which has captivated visitors since its early beginnings as an opera house in 1891. Designed by Colcutt and Holloway, this red brick palace like structure has a Gothic feel to it, while its luxurious interior includes renaissance style architecture. Apart from its resplendent foyer, stairwells and chandeliers,
the Palace Theatre is home to a lavish auditorium which is spread across 4 levels with a seating capacity of up to 1,400 people. Also on hand is a basement cafe as well as 4 bars. Shows which have crossed this theatre’s hallowed stage include Rogers and Hammerstein’s “My Fair Lady”, “Jesus Christ Superstar” the ever popular “Les Miserables” and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s recent creation, “The Woman in White”.
Location… The Palace Theatre is within walking distance from the well connected Leicester Square, Covent Garden and Tottenham Court Road Underground Stations which provide easy access to London’s many attractions. The theatre itself is located close to the vibrant area of Soho, which apart from being home to many trendy nightclubs is also where one will find Chinatown.
