 |
About Old Vic Theatre London As the name suggests, the Old Vic Theatre has indeed been around for quite sometime and has played a significant role in the development of London’s eclectic theatre scene. A creation of architect Rudolph Cabanel, the theatre was opened in 1818 and still retains its Georgian style exterior. The Old Vic Theatre’s auditorium is spread across 3 levels and can seat up to 1,077 people, while giving patrons a chance to immerse themselves in its classical Victorian interior.
One will also find a spacious foyer area as well as 3 bars which are all connected by a central staircase. Over the years the Old Vic Theatre has seen a steady stream of theatrical productions both great and small cross its stage.
Location… The Old Vic Theatre is located within easy reach of London’s financial district, The City and the vibrant Soho area which is home to many energetic nightclubs and bars. Due to its central location many London attractions are easily accessible from the theatre including Covent Garden, Leicester Square, Piccadilly Circus, Regents Park, the National Gallery, the Houses of Parliament and bustling Oxford Street. The Waterloo Underground and Railway Station, Euro Star and the Southwark Underground Station are just walking distance from the Old Vic Theatre and provide hassle free transport options. |
