Albery Theatre London

About Albery Theatre London
The Albery Theatre was built by actor-manager Sir Charles Wyndham back in 1903. However the Albery was then known as The New Theatre designed by architect W G R Sprague and re-named The Albery in 1973 in honour of its past manager Sir Bronson Albery. The Albery provides seating for 872 on 4 levels with the exterior sporting a ‘Free Classical’ style and the plush interior decorated in the style of Louis XVI.

The Albery stands connected by a pedestrian bridge to the main Wyndham Theatre and was once praised as one of the prettiest and airiest theatres. Impressive performances here include The Scarlet Pimpernel, Peter Pan, Hamlet and most notably St. Joan by George Bernard Shaw which ran to an impressive 244 performances.
