Kings Rd

Located in London’s fashionable area of Chelsea, Kings Road has gained a reputation of being one of the trendiest shopping streets in the capital. Home to a diverse range of brand name designer outlets and smaller independent fashion boutiques, Kings Road also has several antique shops, lifestyle stores and roadside cafes making it a stylish hangout spot for both the rich and the more budget conscious shopper as well!

Running past lively Sloane Square, London’s Kings Road was initially used by royalty namely Charles II, in order to travel between Whitehall and Hampton Court Palace. One of the focal points of England’s counterculture during the `swinging sixties` and punk rock seventies, Kings Road with its inventive and trendsetting styles helped put the London fashion scene on the map. Today Kings Road is still a place for trendsetters looking to make a statement or even just mingle with the who’s who of London.

Popular Stores
Once the home of Vivien Westwood’s `Sex` shop which sold punk style clothing and accessories, London’s Kings Road still has many cutting edge fashion stores and boutiques which cater to all manner of tastes, styles and budgets. Shops well worth visiting include Jigsaw which deals in reasonably priced clothes for women and children, the Italian Coccinelle outlet with its delightful range of handbags, John Smedley and its stylish knitwear and Steinberg & Tolkien where one can loose oneself in over 1,000 items of classic haute couture. Shoppers will find a modern French Connection fashion outlet on Kings Road as well.

Those looking to visit some of London’s famous department stores can head to the Habitat household store and the long established Peter Jones department store which are both on Kings Road. Collectors of antique goods can make their way to Antiquarius which is home to a number of stalls selling jewellery, glassware and vintage odds and ends. When your shopping day is done why not spoil yourself by stopping by the Body Shop on Kings Road where one can purchase organic and fully natural products geared towards healing for mind, body and soul.
