Burlington Arcade

Located in the vibrant West End area of Piccadilly, Burlington Arcade offers visitors a stylish shopping haven away from the hustle and bustle of London’s busy city streets. Standing across from the Royal Academy of Arts, this traditional style 19th century shopping arcade is home to upmarket and exclusive shops which deal in luxury items including antiques, jewellery, cashmere clothing and the latest fashion accessories.

Inaugurated under the auspices of Lord George Cavendish (later known as the Earl of Burlington) in 1819, London’s Burlington Arcade was popular among the fashion conscious ladies of the time and was home to the unique Burlington Arcade Beadles who ensured order and decorum was maintained within the building. Dressed in Edwardian frock coats and top hats, the Beadles still patrol Burlington Arcade which has over 40 shops catering to both the serious buyer as well as those who like to indulge in some window shopping.
