About the Chelsea Flower Show The highlight of the year for flower lovers, horticulturalists and those in pursuit of that perfect garden, the annual Chelsea Flower Show is much more than a mere exhibition, but rather a celebration of Mother Nature’s rich bounty. Held at the Royal Hospital Chelsea since 1913, this May event is organised by the Royal Horticultural Society and has around 600 exhibitors and over 157,000 visitors all sharing ideas and enjoying a common bond of being able to appreciate all things green. Apart from a truly breathtaking display of flowers, visitors to the Chelsea Flower Show will find themed garden displays while also being able to get tips and ideas from leading garden designers. Not to be missed is a visit to the Great Pavilion which has on display a diverse range of flowers and plants from around the world, some of which have never been seen before. Even if you do not have a “green thumb”, head on over to the Chelsea Flower Show and just take in the spectacular beauty Mother Nature has provided and who knows you may just bump into one of the events most ardent of followers, the Queen of England herself!
Location The Chelsea Flower Show takes place at the Royal Hospital Chelsea which is located on the Royal Hospital Road near the Chelsea Embankment. The closest London Underground Station is Sloane Square, while the South Kensington Underground Station and the Victoria Underground and Railway Stations are also close at hand. Those looking to get to the show via the public bus service can use bus numbers 11, 137, 211, 319 and 239. Battersea Park is just a short walk away from the Chelsea Flower Show and provides limited parking spaces for those arriving by car.
