Beaches in Ibiza

There are more than 50 magnificent beaches with a total expanse of over 18 kms in Ibiza, all of them offering a myriad of beautiful coves and different beaches ranging from family outings, water sports activities, solitary, wild, tranquil, nudists, deep and shallow waters or delightful hidden coves that nestle beneath tall cliffs. So don’t think twice get loaded with sunscreen and beach paraphernalia and head towards whatever is your ideal choice and Ibiza is sure to fulfill them. Most of these beaches have been awarded the European Blue flag given for cleanliness.

One of the few pleasures of being on the island is that the beaches are always at hand as Ibiza has a total area of 572 square meters and the longest distance by road would be between 15 to 40 kms. The quieter beaches are situated in the North, such as Xarracca, Rencli de S’illot or Xuclar. The more popular beaches are Talamanca, Figueretas, Es Cavallet and for the best sunsets head for the west coast.

Talamanca Beach
The beach at Talamanca is very close to Ibiza town just 1 ½ kms away.It retains a quiet and peaceful atmosphere offering 900 metres long 25 metres wide golden stretch of sand to rest and unwind although the beach gets noisy and busy especially during the weekends. The beach is curved and hugs the Talamanca bay which is a protected harbor area and is not susceptible to high winds. The calm sea is shallow closer to the beach and is ideal for the entire family to take a dip.No shady areas available close by.Lots of sunscreen and cover ups are advisable. Pedaloes, windsurfing school and banana boat rides are popular past times at Talamanca. The beach is easily accessible by vehicle or by Ferry from Ibiza marina or else take a walk along the sea front which leads all the way up to Aqualandia Water Park.
