Dublin Civic Museum |
| This small museum is located on William South Street and is housed in the former City Assembly House. The museum is dedicated to the history of Dublin starting from the Vikings right upto the 21st Century and as part of the Dublin City Council’s heritage services strives to exhibit all aspects of Dublin life and its rich history. The history is depicted through paintings, photographs, old newspaper articles and an array of object that even includes a 40 metre high pillar which has a statue of Nelson right on top. The museum is opened from Tuesday to Saturday from 10.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. On Sunday it opens at 11.00 a.m. and closes at 2.00 p.m. The museum is closed for Christmas and public holidays. Admission is free of charge. |
