La Calahonda, Nerja - Costa del Sol
The Costa Del Sol runs east to west from Nerja all the way to Gibralta, and has some of Europe`s most magnificent beaches including 13 blue flag beaches that are recognized for their high environmental, sanitary and safety standards. The sand varies from blonde to dark and fine to coarse-grained and there are even many coves depending on which part of the Costa del Sol you visit. La Calahonda, Nerja
La Calahonda beach is located in Nerja and is actually a small but picturesque cove and beach goers can take in the view from the Balcon de Europe before heading down to the shore. The beach is popular among fishing enthusiasts as its rocky areas are a haven for a number of fish. La Calahonda is well maintained and equipped with parking, showers, public toilets and hammocks as well as restaurants and Chiringuitos along the stone promenade. For the more adventurous, there are a number of coves to explore to the east of the beach and can be reached via a small path.
