The Benalmadena Sea Life Aquarium located next to the marina offers a memorable experience for the whole family to explore the wonderful sea life of the marine world. The attractions include a piranha tank, sea horse tank, sting rays, octopus, squid and a `touch and explore` area full of crabs and other creatures. The Benalmadena Sea Life Centre has the biggest collection of sharks in Europe. More than 20 beautiful species of shark are to be found here from seas around the world. For the more adventurous and daring there is an underwater simulator. The Benalmadena Sea Life Aquarium plays a very active role in conservation and is performing a great deal of work behind the scenes. The Benalmadena Sea Life Aquarium has their own breeding programme for a wide range of species, some of which are released into the sea in order to secure their future. A well stocked shop, a cafe and a restaurant with a large, safe play zone for the youngsters further complements this excellent center.
