Normally stay here every year with my husband but came back in the summer again with my friends. We had a great time and all that I told them about the hotel they agreed. Again we stayed on a B;B as we like to go out in the evening. But breakfast excellent and snacks at lunctime great. Rooms great and spotless. Staff couldn't do enough for you. This is an excellent hotel.Our room was not ready on arrival so they offered drinks at the bar.It was my birthday during our stay, i arrived back in the evening to find chocolates and champagne on ice also a birthday card from the hotel this was a very nice touch. Reception staff were very friendly ; helpful the even allowed me into the back office to check in for my return flight.Meal times are well organised with 2 sittings some nights dinner was better than others, Bus stop is very close to the hotel for cheap travel around the island,I would recommed this hotel and we loved the rooftop pool area << click here to read less |

Whilst the debate as to whether it's a very good 4* or a decent 5* rages on, one thing is for certain - you will not get this standard of accomodation and service for a similar price anywhere else in Costa Adeje!!
Situated very close to the Duque shopping centre and beach, with it's wide variety of shops, bars and restuarants this is a perfect location (although beware if you have mobility issues - whilst the hotel itself is pretty wheelchair friendly - the hill down to the centre and beach is VERY steep) for a relaxing holiday. Some entertainment is provided by the pool area during the day - but not the 'in your face' kind you so often get abroad. And there is entertainment in the evening if you don't fancy going out.
The sunbeds can get very busy and they do have (and enforce) a 'no reservations' policy - but as the sun moves around the complex throughout the day it's pretty easy to find a decent spot. There's also a roof terrace for those who want to really get away from it.
The on-site food is pretty good, but in all honesty I'd recommend going B;B, having lunch at the lovely (and well priced) poolside terrace then going out and trying the nearby resturants in the evening. Loads of choice.
The rooms are very spacious, with double sinks, seperate toilet, two big wardrobes and a seating area with little two seater sofa.
And broadband in room is free - just ask at reception! << click here to read less |

This was not the first time we have stayed at this hotel and we will be going back again! For the price you just can't get a better hotel in the same area. The rooms are very spacious. Buffet breakfast is OK - nothing out of the ordinary (positively or negatively). If you can get a table in one of the many conservatories they are light and bright. Staff very friendly!
The hotel has recently introduced a 'no-reservations' policy on sunbeds - so beware if you think you can chuck your towel down before 10am and then disappear for the day! Completely agree with this one though - it did prevent that frustrating thing where the best beds are reserved but empty all day!
Great location. Easy walking distance of a really nice shopping centre and many restaurants, but not in the hustle and bustle of central Playa. << click here to read less |

Myself and my wife enjoyed a relaxing week long break at the Gran Hotel. Went half board and were glad we did so as the choice and quality of food was absolutely fantastic. Entire hotel was clean and efficiently run. Great hotel overall. Only problem was we went at Easter time, schools are closed therefore hotel was swamped with kids. Perhaps not quite 5* but a good 4*+. Room was excellent. Food was very good,but the main restaurant was too large for our liking. We ate in the La Laja restaurant which was much nicer. Our only complaint about the hotel would be the lack of staff to service the many guests staying there,consequently the service was quite poor. Overall, a lovely hotel but only 4*+. A Five Star hotel struggling in some aspects to offer the appropriate level of service.
Overall we had a great holida; our rooms were spacious, clean and well set out. The food at breakfast and dinner was varied and always well prepared with certain items being cooked on the spot i.e. omelettes at breakfast and at least two/three main meals in the evening. The entertainment was, on the whole, above average (given it was free) and every effort was made to cater for all types of tastes. The staff throughout the hotel were courteous and helpful and always had a smile on their face. no exceptions.
Silly little things made us think the hotel was not quite there as a five star status. For example, dress code for gentlemen at dinner (shirt and trousers) was often not adhered to by some of the guests, but never the less was allowed and not picked up by the staff. Certain game machines, i.e. air hockey were quite close to some client rooms and were not switched off in the evening, so the more light minded individuals staying at the hotel could play these games at all hours, we were woken at 3am one morning. On some occasions their was slow service at mealtimes, which suggested not enough staffto cover busy periods. << click here to read less |

I think that given the number of guests staying in the hotel that there were insufficient sun-umbrellas. The TV was geared towards the Spanish ; German guests, which was a little frustrating!
