We have just returned from a fantastic trip to Rome to celebrate our 20th Wedding anniversary. The Impero Hotel is a very clean hotel in a fairly quiet location and in a good position to see all the sights of Rome. The reception staff are very friendly and helpful and speak very good english. You can purchase metro tickets from here and maps are available free of charge. The rooms are a little on the small side but are clean and comfortable and the beds have got to be the most comfortable I have ever slept in ! The breakfast offered is limited to a selection of pastries, eggs, cheese and cereals but is fresh and plentiful. The Hotel is only a short walk from Via Marsala where the Terravision airport service to Ciampino arrives and departs and is only a couple of minutes from Repubblica metro station. Also may we recommend the restaurant Alessio just across the road from the hotel. The food is fantastic and the service exceptional. Overall , Our stay was excellent and I would not hesitate to stay here again if we were to return to Rome Read Less

I recently stayed at the Impero hotel with my partner for 5 nights. The hotel was very basic, but we only paid around #54 a night therefore we were not expecting anything spectacular.
The room was clean and the maid visted each day with fresh towels. The bathroom did have a fairly unpleasant damp smell but it didnt bother us much as we spent little time here. We had requested a room on the 4th floor as i had read other reviews on the hotel and these rooms are apparently better.
The hotel was in a great location, near to most attractions. The only time we got the metro was when we went to the vatican city as its a little further out.
The breakfast at the hotel was good but quite basic, there were plenty of fresh pastries, bread, cheese and boiled eggs. It was the same each morning however we felt it set us up for the day.
The hotel was close to a number of good places to eat, and there are also a few good bars nearby, we enjoyed the irish pub as it was good value for money and the food was excellent.
Over all we enjoyed our stay in Rome, although we felt 5 days was too long as we could have done all the main sights in 3 days.
I would recommend this hotel for its location and great value for money. Read Less

Hotel is very clean and in a central location just next door to the opera house. Breakfast is not great, in fact we decided it wasn't worth going for most mornings croissant and coffee (but not as nice as you get in france!!) we travelled to different parts of italy and found this to be the norm. The staff also only speak very little english and we had a top floor room which was flooded with the rain and shoes and books etc... were destroyed, the hotel offered no apology or compensation they just said "the rain was very heavy". Overall though I would recommend the hotel for its central location. Read Less
