We were delighted with our choice of Hotel Diplomatic. It is ideally placed for both the Vatican amd Trastevere sides of the Tiber (10-15 minutes walking) and the concentration of Ancient Rome and downtown shops, historical sites, cafes, restaurants etc. (10-30 minutes, depending on venue) on the opposite side of the Tiber. It also happens to be right at one of the 9 stops of the open Trambus tour and, 100m from the Ponte Cavour, easily accessible from most venues.
The Hotel is clean and well looked after and we found all of the staff ~ especially at the front desk ~ friendly, helpful and good-humoured in the light of our broken Italian ! We also enjoyed the small private veranda to our 5th floor room. Continental breakfast was fine but we didn't use the other common facilities in the hotel since we spent most of our time in the city.
Rome took our breath away ~ and Hotel Diplomatic is an excellent base from which to visit the city. We want to return to Rome soon and will definitely go back to the Hotel Diplomatic. Read Less
