The Old Town Square, or Stramestske Namesti is located in the heart of Prague, between the Vltava River and Wenceslas Square. There are many ancient buildings and churches with Gothic, Romanesque and Baroque styles, dating back to the 12th century. The most notable structure is the statue of the famous reformer, Jan Hus, placed in the centre of the Old Town Square. Apart from the historical structures here, Old Town Square also offers the public a place to meet, celebrate special events and trade various items. The location is easily accessible through tram service, and there are many attractions to visit in the same area, such as the St. Nicholas Church, Old Town Hall & Astronomical Clock. Relax at one of the many cafes surrounding the Square and enjoy the splendid view of this historical site. |
