The old town of Prague also referred to as Stare Mesto is separated from the new town by Na Prikope street. Step into the Old Town Square between Wenceslas Square and Charles Bridge and walk along the same streets that were once treaded on by the famous composer Wolfgang Mozart and view the Estates Theatre where he performed. Many architectural styles are evident in the buildings in this area, especially note the Karolinum which is the oldest building of the Charles University, the Tyn Cathedral and St. Nicholas’ church whilst admiring the Astronomical clock in the square which is a vivid example of late medieval engineering. Climb the tower at the Old Town hall for a splendid view of the area below.
