I have stayed at the Botel Albatross on 3 separate occasions - November '07 and twice in January and January/February '08. The Albatross is perfectly adequate and very good value. A brisk 10 minute walk takes you to Old Town Square so the location is perfect. As before, the food and, particularly the breakfast coffee, is not very good but there are plenty of excellent cafes on Dlouha between the boat and town. I enjoyed the bar! It is cheaper than most in town and you can either sit quietly reading or get talking to other visitors. On my last visit I was surprised to see that there were 3 dogs staying. I happen to be a dog lover; others may not be. It is well worth trying the place for a short visit as I did and then returned twice within two months. More >> |

A perfectly good budget hotel within a ten minute walk of the centre of the Old Town. Nearly all staff (unusually for Prague) were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was, perhaps, the worst part of the stay: very bad coffee and over processed meats but the rye bread was good. Restaurant meals in the evening were adequate, no more than that but excellent restaurants were only 5 minutes walk away. I went to Prague and stayed at the Albatross primarily to get another tattoo in a studio very close to the boat so my requirements were met in full. I would certainly stay there again for a similar (5 day) break. More >> |

On arrival the Receptionst was reluctant tp accept the printed version of any the paperwork for our booking, after going through the paperwork a few times and explaining this was our voucher we got our rooms.
The rooms were very basic but we wanted cheap. The room was warm in the evening.
The cold breakfast buffet made us laugh - Tea uch!, Coffee uch! and some sort of orange liquid, which we came to the conclusion was powder mixed with water uch! So we all opted for the healthy option of water with breakfast. The rooms are looking a little tired. More >> |

staff were a bit miserable, but hey, so were the rest of Pragians. Wouldn't put me off going and was quite amusing in the end.
The breakfast was poor! The free coffee and orange juice (yeah right) were of a very low standard (bring your own). Ham and cheese were a bit processed, but i think that is there standard fare in Prague. The yogurt and cereal were excellent.
Loved staying on the boat (very quirky), in a great location only 10 min walk to centre and some very cool pubs, bars and restraurants on your travels. More >> |

I don't think I'd want to stay here for a week or even more than two days but its great value for a short stop. Breakfast is bland and crowded at peak times, the bar is inexpensive but the best thing is its location, not in a wow kind of way but a convenient kind of way. Good price but I'd think about getting a hotel in one of the villages outside of prague and renting a car if your staying a week or more as things are so much cheaper :) More >> |

After reading other reviews I was a bit worried about staying at the Botel, however I found the hotel to be very charming and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The hotel is in a good location only 15 mins walk to the main attractions and the rooms were very cosy. The hotel is by no means a 5 star hotel and we skipped breakfast after sampling the first day but for the price it is very good value and there are lots of nearby cafes. Would definately recommend. | Outstanding hotel considering the price. The room was clean and the service was great. You can't beat it for the price. If you expect more, then stay at the Hilton. |
