I was very dissapointed regarding my stay at the so called "BEST WESTERN PLAZA INTERNATIONAL HOTEL" Firstly it does not exist !! My husband and I drove for over 2 hours looking for it and eventually at 2am in the morning we had to pay a taxi driver to follow him and take us to the hotel. The hotel is now called the" Econo Lodge Inn & Suites" not a nice experience at that time of the morning after a 9 hour flight. The receptionist was so unhelpful when we checked in and didnt want to know. Our bedclothes were damp and had to put our towels on top of the sheets to sleep on. After a few hours sleep we left the hotel and booked another one but we had intended to stay at the Best Western the rest of our holiday if it was good. Read Less

I travelled to orlando recently, sept 08, and stayed in this hotel. I would just like to inform people staying here, that the hotel has changed its name to "Econolodge" as when we arrived, our taxi from the airport did not know the best western international, and we only noticed after a while, having drove half way up international drive! i knew the address off, which was a help in the end, but best that you know this to save yourself the hassle! The hotel was fine, i dont have any major complaints. It was what we needed it for. Anyone travelling to Orlando will know you;re not going to be in the room much! Rooms were cleaned every day, with fresh towels and sheets every day. the pool area was fine, however, there were a few days certain sections were closed off due to the ground being painted! the food in the pool bar is good...i recommend the chicken strips! The one thing that really annoyed me was this.... On checking in, they asked for a print of my credit card, which i gave. On telling them not to take one cent from this card without my authorisation they agreed, but said m'aam there will be a 2.50 dollar charge at the end of your stay, i said fine, assuming it was like a handling etc. Turns out, on checking out there was a charge of 35 dollars, 2.50 A DAY, as a service charge for each day!! so make sure read all small print!!and dont leave a tip for the cleaner, as your paying 2.50 a day anyway! we had left 40dollars as a tip for the cleaner!! overall, it was fine. We stayed in the b w plaza orlando over night on the 3rd of september on our way south. The accommodation was clean and bright throughout. Good efficient check in. Rooms were cool clean and well maintained with more than adequate equipment. To any of our fellow UK travellers, if you are looking for cheap, clean, quiet rooms, look no further than here. Read Less

Stayed in this hotel which is now called the Econo Lodge (vert fitting name)! from 4th-18th Sep 2008.
Only stay here if you want a very cheap low standard accomodation!
Put it this way i wouldn't put my dog in it!
The staff are rude & unhelpful-except the cleaning staff.
My room was very clean & they changed the towels every day.
I complained 3 times about my room & they did nothing about it but upset me so much i had to leave the reception area & burst into tears!
It was the Manager-Larry Newbold who made me cry.
He frightened me the way he spoke to me. He more or less told me that if i didn't like it to go somewhere else.
I was frightened incase he put me out the hotel for complaining & i was nervous because i was on holiday with my client who has Learning Difficulties.
Once i stopped crying i phoned down reception to see if i could speak to someone with regards to making an Official Complaint against this man & i was told that he was also the Area Manager & it was only him I could speak to & it would have to be in person. I was too afraid to speak to this man.
1.The room was right next to the motorway so the noise was terrible & it never stopped. I never slept for a fortnight!
2.The air conditioning rattled all night & my neighbours even complained about the noise through the wall!
3.My tv did not work properly & kept switching channels on its own. This was really annoying if you were watching a program!
4.My tv was so old that i could not pay for Movies. Read Less

Please note that this hotel has rebranded it's name recently to 'Econolodge'. No changes other than that. We booked a standard room, but found the beds were not big enough for two adults and one chiild, so we upgraded for just $10 per night extra and the new room was fine. Beware that the hotel charges you $2.50 per night as you have booked through a third party and this is not advertised on Roomsnet. Also the hotel took an imprint of my credit card and I argued this with them and they said it is standard practise and I know it's not! However, having said this for the money we paid the hotel is excellent value for money. It's clean and in an excellent location. Read Less

The only problem we had with this hotel was actually finding it as it has now changed its name to the Econo Lodge. It would have helped if we had been notified of this in advance. When checking in there were a number of guests who had the same problem and had spent some time driving up and down international drive looking for it. Not much fun after a long flight! Having said that the hotel was excellent and the location first class and we stayed there again on our last night back in orlando. Read Less

this hotel was excellent, although it is located in the quieter part of i.drive and didn't have so many dining places near it but there are regular trolley buses which run often so it was easy to get to other eating places. The ponderosa lets kids under 9 eat for free so for 4 of us a full breakfast cost only about #7.00 which we thought was brilliant. Read Less

Room was pretty standard motel fare. Clean and a good size, but pretty basic. No restaurant or bar in the hotel but plenty of choice in easy walking distance.
Best feature is the location. Just a couple of minutes walk to loads of bars, restaurants, couple of miniature golf courses.
Would definitely stay in this area of I-Drive again. Maybe not this hotel. Read Less

Fairly poor rooms, only good for location. I would advise spending a little more if you want a good standard.
