O.k hotel in a nice area, near to everything. The corridors and rooms were a bit shabby though. Bed was comfortable. Everytime we went to our room the key card would not work so had to go to the front desk to get it activated.
Room was small as was the bathroom. Staff were quite rude on the front desk and quite abrupt. The bed had a light duvet throw instead of those dirty top blankets a lot of hotels have.
I would have no problem staying here again as it was what we expected for the price we paid. Not too flash but not a dive either. Read Less

We requested a Non-Smoking Double room, and were given a room with 2 very small Singles (and a table thing between them to prevent them being pushed together) which stank of cigarette smoke. Actually, it was rather more a shoebox with 2 small beds, but hey, it's New York, space is expensive and this was one of the cheaper hotels we could find.
The room was clean though, the bathroom/shower also small but also well cleaned every day. The Remote wasn't the correct one for our TV, but we weren't paying a hundred quid a day to be in New York to watch TV so it wasn't the end of the world! My only other criticism of the room is that the lighting was wholly inadequate - there was a hallway light, a main room light and a bedside light. Careful manipulation of the switches on these allowed us to choose from a selection of lighting effects ranging from 'pitch black' to 'dingy'
Service downstairs was good, and the staff polite enough. Check in wasn't allowed til 3pm, but there was no problem leaving luggage with them whilst we ventured out to explore. Since we were using the Hotel more as a base than a Resort, we didn't have opportunity to use any of the other services that may or may not have been offered but we didn't encounter any problems at all, which is always good!
The Hotel is about as basic as you might get in the price bracket, but that's not to say it was poor. The location, just off Park Avenue and only a 5-10 minute walk from Penn Station was great for us, and ther Read Less

A little off to the east but within easy walk of all main areas. The hotel is tucked away and is truly worth visiting. It is a good standard 3 star pushing 4 star hotel. Rooms are not overly huge but totally adequate and very well presented. Views are not brilliant but heck, who wants to sit in whilst in New York !! Coffee and makings in room, multi-channel tv, good bathrooms and excellent bed ! Hotel bar is good but a little lifeless, hotel restaurant is of a very good standard. Internet facilities in lobby with payphones (phone cards in hotel shop).
Overall a very enjoyable stay and recommended.

The hotel looked very nice from the outside and in the lobby area. However, we were very dissapointed with the room itself. The lock on the door did not seem to work and only the latch worked making us feel very unsafe. The hallway area on our floor smelt very unpleasent every day. There is a sign to hang on the door asking for maid service, however, on two occasions, we hung this on the door and our room was not cleaned. This was very annoying as we didn't have fresh towels.
The hotel is situated in a good location but the pictures on the website do not give a good indication of what the hotel actually looks like, infact, it looks very different!!!!

The thirty thirty hotel was very well placed to take advantage of new yorks midtown attractions, sadly the hotel itself was poor. The rooms were small but clean, the room had no tea/coffee facilities and all contact I had with the hotel was pretty dissappointing in relation to tourist support. Having hugely embarrasingly originally entered someone elses room at the start of our visit as the reception desk 'doubled up' in error the service was generally poor. A poor experience in the coupled bar/restaurant, an expensive taxi arranged through the hotel 'taxi management system' ($60 to JFK) generally left sour tastes in our mouths which is very dissappointing as the trip was arranged to celebrate our engagement and the hotel wasn't cheap by any means. New York = fantastic, thirty thirty hotel = big dissappointment Read Less

We were well looked after by your staff, the only negative aspect of our stay was the drinks in the bar were very expensive they were double the price compared to other bars we visited. I think to make your Hotel more attractive is to include Breakfast in the price, people can make up their own minds if they want breakfast or not. Their were no coffee making faclities this would also be a benefit to clients. Read Less

We had two standard rooms - but these were not identical, main difference being bathroom size and only one had air conditioning (not a problem in November). Our double room was extremely small. The wash-hand basin was in the room itself as there was no room for it in the bathroom and there was only 1 chair and no table/desk. The modern/minimalist interior was interesting but that doesn?t really make up for the cramped conditions. However, when you consider the convenient, central location this really is fairly good value. There was a good selection of complimentary local magazines (Time Out etc). The staff were helpful and efficient and check-in was trouble-free. Read Less

Very expensive for the price paid. The rooms were very small and could do with decorating. The picture on the website did not resemble the room that I stayed in !. The only plus side was the location of the hotel (very close to Empire State Building).
The staff offered to get me a taxi and from the price paid ($70) they took a large slice ($10) of the fare for their troubles. I see this as an easy way to rip off first time tourists visiting this hotel, that need a taxi in a rush. Read Less

Location wise, this hotel is ideal. Close to subway and landmark sites like the Empire State Building and Macy's. However, on arrival we had to carry our cases up the front stairs. The room was small and sparcely furnished to say the least. The TV remote did not work, the bedside lamp had blown and there was only one cup for tea or coffee. We were told there would be no charge to use call cards from our hotel room. We were charged $1 on check out! Insignificant but they did say there would be no charge. Read Less

We booked a non-smoking standard twin room, but was allocated a smoking room. We asked to be moved to a non-smoking room but was told that there were none available until the next day. The next day we were moved to a non smoking room.
We found that both rooms were not very well lit, with just two table/floor lamps in the first and three in the second, there was no overhead lighting at all (apart from in the bathroom), and as the rooms faced a building there was hardly any natural light so the rooms felt quite dingy and depressing.
Service on the whole was generally courteous. Read Less

Good place to stay for long weekend - very central and easy to get to all major manhattan locations and shops. Clean and well kept hotel. you will notice i have given 5 for almost all and that is because service given was inadequate re the booking. As you know i booked 3 rooms only to be told when i got there that only 1 room had been booked. We insisted on an upgrade especially when it turns out the hotel was at fault but it took them 2 hours to decide this as they were insistant Tourico were at fault. We eventually got the upgrade on the room but wasted 2-3 hours of our holiday which is a lot when you have only booked for a long weekend. Tourico provided the proof eventually by fax to the hotel that 3 rooms had been booked but this was only after i had got on the phone and after loosing my patience with them they sent the faxes as proof of 3 rooms being booked but still the hotel would'nt take responsibilty. But by this time i had had enough and insisted on 3 rooms there or at a better hotel within walking distance. Eventually we got 3 suites which were lovely and made our holiday complete... Read Less
