Really disappointed with this hotel. All the literature about the hotel indicated that all the rooms were suites. Your allocation of rooms was for tiny double rooms adjacent to the lift shafts which meant the room was noisy. The room was so small we couldn't really unpack, we tripped over each other the whole time we were here. The hotel staff didn't care and said this should have been explained to us when we made the reservation. To be honest the hotel was such a disappointment that i hate New York. Read Less

The Affinia offered an amazing amount of space and facilities for the price. Two televisions, two bathrooms, a kitchenette and lots of floor space. The staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant was good and reasonably priced. Breakfast was very good and the waiter couldn't have been more helpful and keen to please. The location was convenient for anywhere in New York - there are subway stations on various lines nearby and Penn Station opposite opened up the whole region including an easy one hour trip to Long Beach - also very reasonably priced compared with exorbitant UK train prices. I cannot praise the hotel enough and I shall certainly use it again if I return to New York. Read Less

We very much enjoyed our stay. The only issue was that we had booked double or twin rooms, but when we got there the only way to get a twin was to upgrade at an additional cost of $60 per night per room. Since several of us were friends who were sharing rooms, we really did need two beds, however small. The rooms we finally got were well worth the money, but we noticed that just about everyone who arrived was being told their rooms were very small, and offered upgrades. We think the advertised rates should make this very clear. Read Less

Terrible! Upon arrival, our room wasn't ready, came back 3 hours later to find it STILL wasn't ready, so they moved our room. Well, if you can call it a room - it was a box with a bed, it was tiny!! Complained to reception to be told it was nothing to do with them, it was the company we booked with. Apparently our only option was to pay more to "upgrade" - what a con! Avoid this hotel at all costs, spend the extra and stay in the Plaza when it reopens! Read Less
