First of all I was expecting the rooms to be bit more worthwild. The prices of the rooms are very expensive for a 2 star hotel. It is though very ideal location for tourists as Times Square and Empire State Building is a 5 minute walk away. Also, you have Madison Square Garden cross the road. It is best to book the hotel in your home country weeks in advanced and not book a room while your there. In short the rooms are OK but the facilities are very poor with not very nice wallpaper More >> |

The Pennsylvania hotel was fantastic, it is in a great location, right opposite Madison Square garden, only 8 blocks down from Time Square. The hotel was very clean and tidy, the staff were very helpful, my daughter is in a wheelchair and they were very helpful, there is a ramp and disabled lift into the lobby which is very spacious and 10 evevators to all the floors so you don't have to wait long to get to your room. The room was very clean, fresh bedding and towels every day, and air con which in the summer is a life saver.
I will definatly go back to the Penn More >> |

This was the 3rd time i have stayed in this hotel. The floor looked like it had dried paint on it, one of the lamps didn't work and the hot water was off. I did tell them at the desk and they fixed the lamp and the water was back on even though it was on and off. The location is perfect as you have a short walk to Chelsea and a bit further to Greenwich Village and the other way you have Time Square within a 3-5 minute walk. 5th Ave is a short walk too. I will come back to the hotel on my next visit down the the location. More >> |

The best thing about the Pennsylvania Hotel is its location. It is right next to Macy's and only two blocks from the Empire State building. Penn Station is just across the road and this was really convenient this year, as we flew into Newark Airport and were able to get a train direct from the airport to Penn station, and just had to cross the road to get to our hotel. No taxi needed. On the other hand, when we did require to call a taxi (we were in new York for a wedding) there is a very helpful porter who hailed one for us using his very shrill whistle! The housekeeping service was excellent. Our room could have done with some minor refurbishmenta and the hotel has an air of faded glory, but it is reasonably priced, so I'm not complaining about that. We stayed there last summer and we recommended it to a group of our friends who went to NY for a shopping trip just before Christmas and they were quite satisfied with it too. The decor of the hotel rooms was poor, it looked like they needed to be repainted. Linen was very clean, and lined change service excellent.
The staff were absolutely brilliant. We had special needs due to an accident just before we visited, and they could not have been more helpful. Would stay again. Great central location. More >> |

Clean, quiet, couldn't get closer to the centre of Manhattan if you tried. Macy's next door, Penn Station across the road. Time square only 2 minutes walk literally. Not luxury accommodation, but safe, friendly. Do not use the hotel phone very expensive even for local calls. More >> |

this is the third time i have stayed at this hotel.simply because of the location. Its so central and very good concerts are held in Madison square gardens which is right across the road. You can also get a great Irish breakfast in an Irish bar with a decent cup of tea also on the door step. Some of the rooms are shabby.but I always ask for a bigger airy room and have never been refused. The maid service is good and our bed sheets were cahnged daily also. Great price again because of the location.Would stay ther again. More >> |
