Hotel in good area,near everything have stayed at this hotel before on many occasions,needs up dateing,rooms looking old.just across the road from the beach,the Jungel Bar have stopped doing Food what a shame always had breakfast and snack through the day. overall had a great time with the crowd i was with going back in june but not to the same hotel.Already booked through tompson,s as taking my grandchild so a diffrent kind of holiday.Has any one been to the hotel marina torrenova had a look at it when i was there it looks very nice we go on the 8th June 2009 any reviews from fellow room,s net would be nice. << Click here to read less

This was our second time staying in the Tobago Hotel and we found the staff very friendly and helpful. The Hotel is very central to all amenities. It is central to the peacefullness of Palma Nova or the buzz of Magaluf. The weather was a bit poor for a few days but overall we enjoyed our stay very much. << Click here to read less

The bedrooms are in need of some TLC as quite dated and tired. however there was evidence that this is going to happen as there were stacks of new patio doors on site that were waiting to be installed. Food was ok although very warm (microwave poivided to heat up food and this isnt unusaul in our experience of spanish hotels) Would stay again and hopefully bedrooms will be refurbished! << Click here to read less

I was very pleased I chose this hotel.Basic rooms but very clean, hot water never run out, a great view from balcony.Rooms cleaned every day and towels changed daily (LEAVE DIRTY ONES ON FLOOR) pay for tv if thats what you want 3 euros a day,close to everything including Magaluf,no hills to climb.We went half board as it was such a good price.Food what you expect for 3* pretty good but would do bed and breakfast next time as there are so many places to go and eat.First time to Palma Nova and was not dissapointed. << Click here to read less

Second stay for us at the Tobago, we don't normally return to same places as we like to vary things but this hotel was worth another visit. The location is spot on for both Magalluf and Palmanova, central to all you need. The view from the higher floors is exceptional and would take some beating. Worth the money when you pull back the curtains believe us. Food is good enough if you go for a week, and if you book with Roomsnet as we will do again, the cost for half board is better than a B;B in England in some wet old town ! Very basic hotel in need of a face lift. My room needed some attention. The food was well cooked and in good supply but the same every day and meal times became a bore. All the staff were friendly. The bar was ok if you could stomach the entertainment, we had drinks there until 9.30 then escaped when the entertainment started - as did most people. The hotel management need to wake up to this. The hotel is in a good spot just a few meters from the beach. Considering the low cost for this hotel you do get your moneys worth even if the hotel is just used to sleep in, I would return to this hotel but only on a bed and breakfast basis. We travel often in groups and usually only stay in 5* hotels. We stayed here in 2007 on a "cheap and cheerful" "extra" holiday and we were all pleasantly surprised so we decided to come back this year on another "extra" holiday. We saw a big difference in the hotel this year, the rooms (all five), had suffered a lot of wear and tear since the previous year and the plumbing was suffering, during the week we often got a splurge of brown water from the sink, bath and shower taps, which was very off putting. The rooms themselves were clean and the maid service was regular, however the rooms were all in need of a revamp. The food in the restaurant was plentiful and well presented, but the variety was limited, you certainly would not starve but would probably find yourself eating out if staying here more than a week, we were on full board and found lunch and dinner were often the same so I would recommend half board. The hotel entertainment was very lame - but hey who needs it when on holiday especially in an area with so much to do. All members of staff were very efficient, they were all very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is is a excellent location infact the location could not be better! step one way - Magaluf, step the other way Palmanova, step across the road and you were on the beach. Would we stay here again - probably not but don't be put off as it is still value for money, and earns the 3* at the end of the day it is somewhere to put your head down! << Click here to read less

I must comment on how pleased we were with our room,and of the hotel overall.We would recommend it and certainly stay in it again,it was close to the beach and shops and bars etc,a perfect all rounder.It was cleaned every day,we had fresh towels,the food was nice with plenty of choice,and hotel staff friendly and helpful. Although we enjoyed the overall experiance, I must say I was very disappointed when we arrived the hotel was over booked ourselves and several other guests had to relocate to another hotel for the first night.This hotel was close by but when you are only there for a short 4 night break it means you can not unpack or get settled to make it worse our rooms were not ready untill 5pm the next day, this efetivly cut our break down to 2 days.When I asked why they were overbooked I was told a lot of Shanish had booked for the weekend and thought we wouldn't mind beeing put up in another sister hotel (which was a better hotel The HAWAII just over the road) we got the offer of free wine with our meal as compensation since 4 of our party were under 16 and we dont drink wine I thought this was not very good . The response from the duty manager was to simply say it wasn't his fault and that we colud look for somewhere else to stay. In summing up dont stay here its the same price over the road in the HAWAII and the service is better ,so is the view from the bedrooms. << Click here to read less

The only thing I found different from staying before is that there was alot of young groups ; they were very noisy, I don't object to anyone having a good time but they had no consideration for anyone else especially at 4.30 in the morning but overall I would go again. << Click here to read less

After reading some of the reviews it was with some trepidation when we arrived at the Tobago. Booking in was simple and everyone was pleasant. We wern't expecting luxury as we'd only paid #300. for a holiday for 2 half board including flights. The meals were ok if not a little bland, but we'd not paid a lot so our expectations were not that high. The hotel's location is central for Palma Nova which suited my husband and I fine. Thoroughly enjoyed our October weeks break and would not hesitate to return - probably wouldn't go in high season, October was great. << Click here to read less

This is the worst hotel I have evr staqyed in, the first room we were given, had a nice view, but the smell of cigarette smoke was unbearable, the room was very, very basic, and had cigaqrette burns all over the furniture. We were moved to another room on the 3rd floor, which when we looked had a dirty fridge, a cooker, and looked more like a kitchen. You could not secure the patio door. We went down for our first evening meal, in the "cafe" as that is what it was like, the food was bad, we didnt know what we were eating as there was no descriptions of the food. Chips, chicken nougats etc etc. Breakfast, chips, bacon, hard boiled eggs. We stayed one night, and moved to another hotel. Do not stay here. << Click here to read less

The evening meal was fine, and there was plenty ofchoice,whether it be meat, fish, salads, soup, and lovely desserts. Good location for the beach but also a lot nearer Magalluf than most would like to point out. Our room was near the street so i cant speak for the other side of the hotel but it was not unheard of to be woken up at 4 in the morning to the tune of drunken football songs on the street! Food was ok but not labelled, so sometimes it was a russian roulette as to whether the battered meat in front of you was squid or chicken. Spanish seem to get priority over you and do not like queuing like us Brits. Can be very annoying! Be prepared to have to stay elsewhere on your first night due to overbooking of the hotel, we had to on our first night, the substitute hotel was only over the road but the couple in front of us were not so lucky and were carted off into a taxi for their alternative. This is not unheard of, i have read it on many reviews. The hotel to compensate you for it though by giving full board and free safe so we didnt mind too much. Having said all of the above, what more do you want for the price?! The rooms were cleaned everyday without fail, all areas of the hotel were always clean including the pool. Like i said the food wasnt the best but what more do you want, its cheap for a half board and edible, there is also a pretty good selection. Dont be put off by other peoples reviews, seems to me that they are snobs that want the world for 400 quid for a fortnight. Definately the worst i've ever had in any holiday hotel for 20 years. but having said that it was still not a bad price if you class it as room only and just avoid the dining room . Hotel was in a nice location, just across the road from the beach and rooms well maintained. Food was poor though, cold, unlabelled, very little choice and the same dishes repeated every night. As an British tourist you were not made to feel welcome, catered mainly for Spanish and Italians. On our 1st night there was a water leak, which meant the whole hotel was without ANY water, we were not told what had happened, how long it would be off for and no alternative arrangements were made for us to use the toilet, wash our hands etc which left us wondering how the food was being cooked, staff hygiene etc on the plus side on our last day they did provide us with a courtesy room to shower in before leaving for the airport. << Click here to read less

There was 8 of us in the party who stayed at the hotel, its location was perfect and the only thing that spoiled the holiday was the choice of food for children, the other thing was the hotel was accepting groups of about twenty young men,one group caused havoc at approx 6:30 am when they kicked doors in trashed some rooms and set off fire extinquishers under our doors. We had 2 young children with us which could have proved fatal as they were the powder type which could have suffocated them, i would use the hotel again but not with children << Click here to read less

40 euro ride in taxi to hotel. It is situated in an excellent position for nightlife and also for peace and quiet. We stayed 1/2 board for 3 nights for around #50 - the breakfast was traditional english breakfast items and also a mediterranean choice. We didn't try the evening meal as the choice looked a bit on the bland side. There are plenty of local parks for the children - all within walking distance and the streets were well kept and cleaned daily. The beach is approx 50 metres from hotel. The pool area is ok with a bar but the pool is not that big for a hotel for a hotel this size and at peak times you will struggle to get a lounger. Finally, the nightlife is average and this is because the ratio of men to women was probably 30:1 - most of these men were loud chav louts who give the english the bad name they have. Too much testoserone knocking around - but overall a canny 3 break. << Click here to read less

. This is the second time we have stayed at the Tobago (Sept 06), the first being May 2005 and I have to say the standards seem to have slipped a little since then. The room we had this time had a pool view, which was ncie, but not as nice as the sea view previously, the room need a little refurbishment to say the least, in the bathroom the toilet base was damaged and the door was mouldy, as too was the b-day. We were also surprised to find a sink in the bedroom which had seen better days ! The food in the Hotel was good and offered lots variety. For location this is an excellent hotel, though for food and decoration maybe a 2* not a 3* is more suitable. I don't think we will stay at Tobago again. << Click here to read less

Located right by the beach and near enough or far enough from busy nightlife as you want it to be. Easy enough to stagger back from the Strip which is 2 minute walk away. Hotel staff were friendly and during our stay it was mainly Spanish guests there which was nice as it meant there were no lager louts (apart from us) around the pool area, though due to the accessability of the beach, we spent most of our time there. I went to the Hotel D'or Tobago with my boyfriend last week. We wanted to be able to visit the nightlife of Magaluf without having the noise at night. This hotel offered us a good quality room with cooking facilities but no air con, and only a 5 minute walk from the start of the main nightlife. The main "square" (where BCM and Coyote Ugly bars etc were) is about a 15 minute walk (or 20 minute stumble!) The hotel has quite a few rooms overlooking palmanova beach which is always a bonus. There is a supermarket opposite the hotel which is handy for little bits and bobs. We went half board and were impressed by the range of food available. The breakfast was substantial enough that we didnt eat until dinner time. If you decide to buy a bottle of wine with your meal and don't finish it, they will cork it for you so that you can enjoy it the next night. bless. All in all I would reccommend this hotel for families, groups of young people and couples. There's something for everyone! << Click here to read less
