Playa de Muro, part of a bay which has total of seven kilometers of clean white sand, and one of the most popular areas of Majorca, is especially attractive to naturalists, with the S'Albufera Nature Reserve being part of the beach poses to be one of the biggest attractions of the island. The reserve, which consists of wetland, marsh and dunes, is a vestige of the swamps that once covered the area. The swamps were drained with the advent of civilization to promote tourism and are home to a vast array of bird life, with an unbelievable 230 species living there or passing through. There are also 29 species of fish, including eel and mullet, plus reptiles, amphibians and mammals.
