Location excellent, bus just across the road for Palma although it is an easy walk.Facilities are very good the bar is reasonable compared to some hotels which means that clients return to the hotel in the evening for a nightcap. It is ideally situated for a stay in Palma and we are now arranging to go back

Would definitely recommned this hotel for travellers who don't want to spend a fortune, but want a central locaion wiht a good view. This hotel is in a great location for shopping,sightseeing and sunbathing. Staff are very pleasant and helpful. Don't be fooled by the reviews of the Baisakhi Indian next door food OK but be prepared to spend approx 90 euros for two people with no choice of menu. I reccomend trying the Taste of India just further down by the Audotorium. For traditional spanish food try the Maritimo by the orange trees the menu of the day is fantasitc value and exellent quality food. << Click here to read less

of choices but would have preferred tea/coffee served to table as

This hotel is fantastic value for money, especially if you choose half board as they have a super buffet evening meal. The staff are genuine and you see the same faces every year. They also provide weekly live entertainment in the bar area which is relaxed and enjoyable. The location is ideal for a city visit to palma and there is parking available for free opposite the hotel although at times it can be tricky to find a space. Breakfast good value.
Customers allowed to smoke in bar ( which also served food), which certainly deprived hotel of additional income from us.

Good hotel for those who like to be with fellow Brits. I prefer a hotel geared to european clients. Breakfast not as good as in other hotels in Palma as it favoured the 'bacon and eggs' brigade. I prefer better selection of rolls,croissants and ensaimadas. Hotel is good for single travellers. Was very satisfied with single room. This was our third visit and, as always, the reception was friendly and efficient. Our flight arrived too late for us to have dinner but they were happy to 'swap' it for dinner on the day we left since we had a late flight home. The room on the front was spacious with a superb view of the marina.
15 minutes walk along the promenade to the old town and Cathedral.
We would certainly stay there again. Most of the staff speak English and all are friendly and helpful. Breakfast and dinner are buffet style with a good variety of food. << Click here to read less

However there are lots of nice restuarants in Palma so you will always find somewhere nice to eat. . When you come out of the airport walk down the walkway and catch the No 1 bus and it is the 2nd stop on the Paseo Maritimo 3 euros 70cent for 2 people. Buses run right oposite the hotel for your return journey every 15 minutes. Also buses run to all areas of Palma very near to the hotel, reception will give you any info required to get to certain areas. No need to book excursions you can do it all yourself. would recommend the Costa Azul for a nice centrally located hotel. << Click here to read less

Thiks is an ideal hotel for a stay in central Palma, right on the seafront of Palma Marina. Easy to get to old Palma and the Cathedral, good restaurants nearby. Food was good, nice bar and restaurant. Indoor pool was small but adequate and small sun deck on 3rd floor was nice.
Room was clean and sizeable, but on ground floor at back of hotel so no view and had to keep blinds shut to keep out noise, but I did book as a single person and some friends have told me that the double rooms overlooking the bay are brilliant, luck of the draw I guess. << Click here to read less

However I thought the bedrooms were rather basic and tired looking. Our air-con unit had it's front missing and all of the internal workings were exposed.
The dining area was small and poorly organised in terms of layout.

The Hotel, which is good value for money, is situated on the seafront opposite Palma Marina and is a short walk into the centre towards the Cathedral and exploring the old town around it. Great shopping interspersed with shady bars and cafes - definitely recommended. The Hotel also provides a good base for venturing out to enjoy Palma's cafe culture and nightlife with some exotic bars, like Abaco, where the champagne cocktails may be expensive, but I bet you've never seen anything like it before; make sure you go after 9pm. << Click here to read less

The location is great with the centre being only a ten minute walk away. You can hire one but if you wish hairdryer straight away they charge 7 Euros, 3 being deposit-felt this was a bit expensive. The hotel didn't have any computer for guest use. The bedlamps were poor, like in most hotels.

We booked this hotel after it being recommended through a friend. We had a a fab time - we stayed for 5 nights and it was lovely. we would recommend asking for a room on the front of the hotel, from floor 4 upwards for a fabulous view of the harbour and Palma cathederal.
the breakfast was lovely - we didnt have an evening meal there but those that we spoke with said it was nice. Bar snacks are available and are very reasonably priced.
the staff were always friendly and helpful.
Beware - we went to the indian next door as the restaurant looked lovely - petals over the tables - candle lit etc, however, its a set menu- 32.95 euros per person, inc. wine and water but there isnt a menu so you don't know until they bring it out what it is - there was a lot of dishes, but not much in each dish! the dishes were all quite sweet too. it was nice but im not sure if it was 70e nice for thte two of us!!
from the airport get the no1 bus and get off at Passeig Maritimo, the hotel is just a few m's on the right hand side from the bus stop. << Click here to read less

The hotel was in a lovely location and the food in the bar was excellent. We were delighted on the Thursday night we arrived to find that there was entertainment in the hotel and we really enjoyed it.
However our room was to the back of the hotel and although clean was very basic, I think however the rooms overlooking the bay are probably of a much higher standard.

Second time around and this Hotel did not disappoint rooms are good enough with our balcony overlooking the Marina.Indoor swimming pool ideal to cool off and the sun deck great to while-away a few hours with a good book and get a great tan ! Last time we came it was a very good continental breakfast this time we were treated to a good 'Hot and cold ' choice to keep us going for the day. Staff very helpful and friendly. Just next door is an excellent Indian Restaurant serving a set menu of about 5 courses including wine,water and coffee not your typical curry !The location of the Hotel is perfect for exploring ( on foot)both Palma city and it's shops, the Cathedral , the Castle and of course the promenade with all the luxury boats.At night there are many restaurants and bars to find all within a short walk from the Hotel, or just sit on the balcony with a glass of wine and watch the lights of the City. One more thing the Airport Bus , No 1, takes you from the Airport almost right outside the Hotel for under 4 Euros for 2. The Bus stop for the return trip is opposite the Hotel and they run approx every 15 minutes- much cheaper then the taxis ! Just a footnote although we are not disabled comments from a guest suggested that a walk in shower as opposed to a normal bath/shower set up would be helpful to the less agile ,other than that our stay was marvellous and we would come back again and reccommend the Costa Azul ! << Click here to read less

How wonderful to wake up to the view from this hotel. The Palma marina is superb and the bonus is being able to see the magnificient cathedral also. There is certainly plenty to see and do in Palma the only downside was there are not too many choices in February for eating out in the evenings unless you just want tapas.The hotel evening meal is okay but not really to a great standard. The breakfast are very good and the staff are great, friendly and helpful. The rooms are a good size including the bathrooms which have bath tubs and shower over. << Click here to read less

My wife and I have been impressed by the Costa Azul every since we first went there 26 years ago. In that time the hotel has been steadily improved and is now comfortable - and always welcoming - thanks to the staff, many of whom have been there for as long as we remember.
The fact that nearly everyone we meet there during our annual break has also been returning to the Costa Azul time after time is a strong recommendatio9n. That says it all.

This hotel is geared to the needs of tourists (especially British) on package holidays. Our room had a balcony looking out over the harbour and was very clean and comfortable. The location is agreeable and close to eating places and an Irish pub. Buffet breakfast was good, whilst dinner was low cost but unadventurous. Bar service was friendly and not too pricey. The only "fault" I could find was the swimming pool is looking a bit old and tired - it would not be ideal if you hoping to spend long hot days by the pool, it's more of a plunge pool, but work was just starting on a refurb. as we left.
The location and views of the Cathederal and marina are exellent. Just hop on the number 1 bus from the airport (1.85 euro) and you get a mini tour of the city and dropped off almost at the door! Great value for money. << Click here to read less

A 'dated' feel to the hotel with very limited space in public areas (lounge, bar, etc).Most visitors in the 'seniors' age bracket (in November).We only ate breakfasts in the hotel. These were good. The location is excellent for visitors wanting easy access to the centre of Palma (15/20 minutes walk). Rooms with balconies fronting the Bay of Palma and marina offer great views, although those on the lower floors experience a lot of traffic noise from the busy Paseo Maritimo. Good hotel at town end of Maritimo, the road running alongside the marina, about 15/20 minutes walk to the cathedral and the old town. Although the road outside is very noisy, this could not be heard in the bedrooms due to excellent double glazing. Bedrooms were clean and spacious but try to avoid the lower floor ones - we asked for higher floor rooms but were given floor 2 rooms, our friend's room was fine but ours had a huge tree outside which almost totally obscured the view of the harbour. Try to get floor 6.7 or 8. the views will be magnificent. We didn't have dinner but the breakfasts were very nice. Costa Azul is in a very pleasant position. The food in the hotel is very good and plenty of it. Staff are very pleasant and the bar is cheap. You can get the number 1 public bus direct from the airport which will drop you off very close to the hotel. You get off the bus at Paseo Maritime 2. The stop you are at is highlighted inside the bus. Other buses close to the hotel take you to Port Andrax and other destinations. If you get to the number 1 to the Train Station as well as getting the wooden train to Soller you can also get a bus from the bus station behind the train station and the little park which will take you up to Valldemossa, then via Deia to Port Soller. This time we booked for half board for a small additional cost and the array of food on offer at the self service buffet exceeded our expectations. The sundeck and small pool on the third floor was ideal and there were free sunbeds to use every afternoon. We stayed at the Costa Azul for 3 nights and had a great short break. The location overlooking the marina at Palma is perfect although a little noisy at times. However, once the doors etc are shut it isn't noticeable. The room was a little basic but very clean, comfortable with air con and our bathroom well appointed with fresh towels etc every day. Breakfast was adequate with both a hot ; cold buffet. Although we didn't have dinner at the hotel, it appeared to be very popular and we heard good comments about the standard of food.
There is a small terrace with sunbeds and a small indoor pool ideal to relax after sightseeing, and snacks etc are served on the terrace. All this together with friendly, helpful staff made a wonderful few days in the lovely city of Palma. We will certainly return to the Costa Azul. << Click here to read less

We had a very pleasant room with balcony on the top floor with a breathtaking view over the harbour. The facilities were adequate but somewhat basic. The room had ample wardrobe and cupboard space and comfortable twin beds. There were no in-room tea/coffee making facilities, only one plug point (and this in the large bathroom), and no internet access. The room had a safe but you had to purchase the key at 1Euro per night. A hairdryer was available also at extra cost from reception. We opted for half-board. Both breakfast and dinner were buffet style and served in a very pleasant dining room on the ground floor. Breakfast was fine with a good selection of food and beverages. Dinner was acceptable if a little dull. Dining room staff were very helpful and friendly.
The hotel has two bars, one on the ground floor and one near the indoor pool on the third floor. Service in the bars was a little erratic at times. The hotel is within walking distance of the town centre although the bus services are very good in Palma. We felt that the hotel was beginning to look a little tired in places and was due for a face-lift. Having said that, we very much enjoyed our stay and would probably use the hotel again on future visits. << Click here to read less

The Costa Azul is an excellent hotel in a perfect location overlooking the bay of Palma. The staff are all very friendly and helpful, and speak good English. The food is very varied - and the jelly desserts are very popular with everyone. The bus service no. 1 leaves from opposite the hotel and stops at the Plaza Espana near the railway station. Very good hotel in a good location with lovely views over the marina and towards Palma cathedral. Friendly staff and excellent "cafe con leche". Bar prices very reasonable. Breakfasts can get a bit crowded 9am - 10am and the queue for the coffee machine is a problem. Locating the juice machine away from the coffee machine would be a good idea. Having read the reviews of other travellers we decided to catch the No 1 bus from the airport to the Hotel which took around 30 minutes - cost 1.85 Euros and stopped at the Costa Azul bus stop located very close to the Hotel. On arrival we were swiftly booked in by the efficient reception staff and directed to our twin room on the first floor which was far beyond our expectations having an additional lounge area and a balcony overlooking the harbour. It was very clean and had a large en suite bathroom. We had decided to book Half Board and enjoyed a mouth watering selection of food both at breakfast and dinner. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay - had great weather - and will certainly be returning sometime in the future. Excellent value for the money. << Click here to read less
