I went with my girlfriend (both 23) and my parents. We got a car out for the week and I visited most of the major resorts on the island; Cala Millor, can picafort, cala bona, Alcudia, magaluf, Palma Nova and I preferred Cala D'or by a mile. It is a very cultured and typically Spanish chilled out place but with lots of shops and nice traditional pubs and fancy bars if you want to spend some dosh.
The hotel on first appearance seems a little dated inside, but we soon got used to it. The hotel is in a street that runs parallel to the main high street in cala d'or which is ideal for visiting the shops, as well as drinking and eating out. The selection of food in the hotel was generally very good and always to a high standard. At night there was always a selection of fish, and meats as well as some nice vege's and lovely salad's.
The entertainment in the hotel was very minimal and a bit dull for my age group!
About 400 yards down the road are some bays that are great for sun-bathing in and going for a swim in the clear blue sea. Also at a similar distance from the hotel is a lovely marina where you can track down your dream boat and have a chilled out sangria or two.
The go-kart circuit in Can Picafort is a must for any petrol head!
For people young or old the hotel and the resort is extremely highly recommended. More >> |
