If you want a relaxing laid back week in the sun in a clean and friendly medium sized hotel in a resort only 10 mins from the airport, then you could do a lot worse than the Kilimanjaro. The staff were lovely, rooms were a good size for 2 people and cleaned every day. The restaurant had a pleasant atmosphere and the staff were always at the entrance to make sure everyone was dressed appropriately. The food was a decent standard for 3 star although after a week it did become a bit repetetive. Whilst we only ate out once through the day and on 2 occassions at night, had we stayed there any longer than a week we would have probably ate out a lot more. If you're looking for a typically British type holiday resort then I am afraid Arenel is not for you. It is mainly a German and Dutch resort with a few Italians and French thrown in for good measure. English people and English bars are few and far between. But dont be put off by the amount of non English holiday makers, most were really friendly whilst the rest just kept themselves to themselves. There is a vast choice of restaurants in Arenel and prices seemed a bit cheaper than other, more English, resorts on the island. On the sea front keep an eye out for Casablanca, always busy, a good atmosphere and good food. If you need an English Bar try The Sportsman run by a very friendly family from Liverpool and not too far from the Hotel. If I wanted a chill out short break in the sun, I wouldn't mind going back to the Kilimanjaro.

MY WIFE AND I SPENT 10 DAYS AT THIS HOTEL WE COULD NOT WAIT TO LEAVE.THE HOTEL LIKE THE RESORT IS TOTALY GEARED TO GERMANS, IT WAS LIKE A 18 -30sHOTEL .WE WERE NOT MADE TO FEEL WELCOME AT ALL.THIS IS THE FIRST HOTEL WE HAVE STAYED AT WHERE YOU CAN ONLY GET ALCOHOL SERVED IN PAPER CUPS ,THERE IS A NEED FOR ANOTHER BAR. IT WOULD ALSO BE NICE, TO HAVE SOME KIND OF DRESS CODE IN THE DINING ROOM .THE FIRST NIGHT ,WE WENT IN TO DINNER, AND THER E,WAS SOME CHAP JUST WEARING SWIMMING TRUNKS AND A T-SHIRT,NOT THE SORT OF THING FOR A 3 STAR HOTEL OR ANY OTHER HOTEL. THIS WAS OUR FIRST GO AT CHOOSING AN INTERNET HOLIDAY, IT WAS NOT A GOOD START. BRITS BEWARE, STAY AWAY FROM THE KILIMANJARO, B STANFORD UK.

WE FOUND THAT THE HOTEL WAS VERY GOOD AND THE LOCATION WAS GREAT.5 MINUTE WALK FROM THE MAIN BEACH AREA. TAXI RIDE FROM THE AIRPORT WAS 20 EURO AND TOOK LESS THAN 10 MINUTES. FOOD WAS VARIED CONTINENTAL STYLE DISHES SO IF YOU ARE A PIE AND MASH MAN IT PROBABLY WOULD NOT SUIT. HOWEVER BE WARNED THAT THIS RESORT IS WALL TO WALL GERMAN HOLIDAY MAKERS. HAVING SAID THAT I HAVE TO SAY THAT ALL WERE VERY FRIENDLY AND WE HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH THIS WHATSOEVER.
