Quality & choice of food was excellent. Fabulous location overlooking the prom & beach. I will return, but it would not suit everyone. Very few children, even in early Aug, which made for a peaceful holiday and pools you could swim laps in. No organised entertainment during the day. Evening entertainment 3/4 times a week, not worth staying in for. Good bus service to Palma where it was easy to catch a bus/train elsewhere. Cycle path along the coast to Palma in one direction & Arenal the other, lovely walk. Because it was flat I noticed a number of wheelchair users. the beach lifeguards had a floating chair for their use in the sea. The hotel would have benefited from a pool hoist to enable disabled access to the pool.
If you want an action packed clubby type holliday this hotel is not for you. If you want comfortable surroundings, good food and a quiet relaxing time then it's ideal. From the sunbed you can watch the world go by along the prom & all the activities on the beach, the view was stunning. The terrace is 2m higher than the prom so you get a lovely outlook without being looked at yourself. More >> |

This is second time for me here in El Cid. Good hotel in an ideal situation for either sun worhippers or those wanting to venture a bit further (bus stop close by) Not a particularly good place to find gourmet eating but adequate restaurants very close. More >> |

I booked 7 rooms in the Hotel El Cid, on arrival there was a slight issue as only 2 of the rooms were available for the first of the three nights, they had arranged 5 rooms in a hotel close by for the first night. As we were a group being split was not acceptable, so they accomodated us in their larger suite rooms for the first night, these rooms were excellent and better than the twin rooms we had booked anyway! For the inconvenience, we were upgraded to HB and given free wine with our evening meals. Our stay here was excellent. Excellent location as right on the beach and only 10 mins from Palma and Arenal. Would definately go back. More >> |

Overall the Hotel is simply superb.
I feel that they tend to cater for European tastes rather that for the English.
Menu's not in English.
Having said that, you will not starve, you can always find something from the vast array of food on offer.
The Hotel is right on the beach with super sea views.
We found the front pool warmer than the back, both have snack bars serving reasonible priced snacks.
Loads of sunbeds so no running against our tutonic colleagues there.
Lots of different nationalities staying during our visit, not many English, not sure if that is a good / bad thing.
I would def return in the future.
I was looking for a week's chill and it was simply one of the best holiday's I have had. More >> |

Nice hotel right by the beach which is very clean. 2 good sized swimming pools that cater for everyone including young children. I must say the staff at the El Cid are very helpfull and friendly, probably one of the best 4* hotels in Can Pastilla based on the price. I would note that a mini bar service in the rooms would be nice. Deifinately on my list when I go back to Majorca. More >> |
