The Mediodia is in an excellent location. The staff were very good - we had easy access to our room on the day of arrival, which was fairly early, & we had no problems on leaving our luggage secure on the day we left, until we needed to collect it. A hotel with style.
If you don't like traffic noise, you need to get a room on the museum side, not the front. Read Less

Around half of the hotel staff spoke English, including the main receptionist who was fluent. Those who didn't were very friendly and tried their hardest to help and understand us, overall we were very pleased. The towels were changed every day and the beds made etc, the rooms all had a tv and wall mounted hairdryer, safes were available for a deposit of ?15.
The only issue we had was that the hotel didn't have details of our booking when we arrived and as this was at lunchtime we had to wait a while for them to contact the 'travel agent' and resolve this... Read Less

Breakfast consists of coffee, juice and two rolls, that is it. The front desk staff was abrupt and unfriendly...but then, are there any friendly people in Madrid? Unlike other Europeans, don't expect Spaniards to speak English or even try. Read Less

the hotel was very basic and some staff were very helpful but some were the exact opposite, the area has quite a few undesirable people hanging around so its not advisable to look to like a tourist. it does benefit from being right beside the metro station but puerta del sol is perhaps a nicer area to stay even if it costs a bit more Read Less
