Incredibly well located hotel on 5 mins walking distance from Plaza del Sol (shopping and tourism) and 10 mins from the Prado Museum in the heart of Madrid´s nightlife around Plaza Santa Anna. Service is friendly and the rooms are tidy. Only downside is that the hotel has long deep corridors, which (if you aren´t lucky) take you a long time to reach your room. Also, if your room is on the street side, you might have trouble sleeping because of all the noise coming from the streets that are full of partying people till 6 in the morning, and if you close the window, you can´t sleep because of the heat. Therefore this hotel makes great for backpackers and young travellers in search for a convenient but cheap accomodation.

The Cantabrico is a 2 star Hostal and as such offers good value for money but it has a number of drawbacks. The room we had was very small and overlooked Calle Cruz which is avery noisy road both during the day and the night. If you want something which is cheap and cheerful for an overnight stay then fine, but I wouldn't recommend it for any other purpose.

dirty. far too expensive for what you got. i left early and found much better accomodation nearby for just less than half the price - with a fridge and a fan and nice people. i will never stay there again or will never use this service again.
