Don' t expect too much. This is absolutely basic!
The beds were made with a sheet and a blanket, the curtains were hanging loose, the window was too old to close, the closet was too small for two persons to put their cloths in for a few nights and only an acrobat could reach the the toilet. The staff is completely East-European.
We paid more than 100 euro per night. Read Less

The room was quite clean and very warm. I was not happy however with the security, there was no chain on the door and no window locks and one of the windows opened onto a fire escape with easy access from the outside. A good push would open the hotel door and outside windows. Other than that it was ok for the cost in central London. Read Less

This place was not what I expected. I felt that for the money I spent it could of been alot better. I think the pictures of this hotel on the web are very deceiving and I can't actually beleive that this hotel is still allowed to run in it's condition.

The room and beds were clean and comfortable. They had many facilities that we were not expecting, tea/coffee, hairdryer, trouser press, etc. The staff were always friendly and the location was very good, only a minute's walk to oxford st. and the nearest underground station. Although the central location, noise was not a problem, we were able to sleep very well with the window open all night. We did not stay for the breakfast, although it provided a very tempting smell as we left for a days adventuring in london! Read Less

Very cheeky! The entrance lobby looks very regal and elegant. Then...step through the door into the ground floor rooms section and I at least felt like I was staying in a DHSS hostel! Dirty, 'white' paintwork, shabby wallpaper and fittings, a basement room with opaque glass so no view, and quite stale smelling. I complained and was moved to a slightly better room - if absolutely filthy - blacker than coal - net curtains qualifies for 'slightly' better... And don't expect a choice for your 'continental' breakfast either. Cornflakes scooped from a large communal pot is all that is on offer. 2 stars? Scarcely worth one, in my view. Disgraceful! We enjoyed our visit in London. We choose the Rose Court Hotel because we needed a triple room and they had the best rate in a great spot for our needs at the time. The location is wonderful, being 2 blocks away from the Marble Arch underground station and walking distance of many other attractions such as shops and restaurants on Oxford Street. The setting was nice and seemed safe while we were walking home in the evenings. The room itself was typical of a budget hotel. It's an older facilty that doesn't offer the extra frills. We stayed in the summer time so it was necessary to open a window to stay cool in the evenings. There were people yelling outside of the hotel in the middle of the night that woke me up, but that could happen anywhere. The bedspreads, pictures, light fixtures and winding staircases added English character to the room and main areas of the hotel. The continental breakfast was very good with tea/coffee, orange juice, cereal and toast with butter and a variety of jams. The wait staff for breakfast was wonderfully prompt while we were there, remembering what we wanted from the previous day - we were only there for a long weekend. The staff for the entire hotel was very friendly. I would recommend this hotel if you are looking for a cheaper place to stay in a very good area of London to sightsee and enjoy the city. Read Less
