At first glance the hotel looked quite drab, but this was only the colour scheme, which could do with being brighter! The staff were very helpful and the rooms clean and comfortable, even if the view was of rooftops! We were only sleeping there after all! Our stay included English breakfast which was decent enough and was a help yourself buffet. Returning to the hotel at night we had a drink in the bar and found the price quite competetive , just over #6 for a whiskey, bottle of lemonade and a pint. Russel Square tube station was 2 minutes away at the most. (One tip - buy a day pass for the tube, it is only a little dearer than they wanted to charge for a single journey)
We would stay at the President again if we go down to London. << click here to read less |

The hotel is very busy but rooms are good and the bathrooms are larger than the usual London standard - with lots of hot water! Downside is that the walls are thin and you hear neighbours coming and going. 1/ Initially I was allocated to some dreadful single room on the 7th Floor - My suspicion was raised that it would not be nice when I was directed to a service lift around a corner from the main lifts that only went to the 7th floor. I then went down back to Reception to say I was not happy - fortunately the late evening staff had come on the interim and the gentleman in charge looked rather suprised at my room number given and said "No No!" and then directed me to a room more to be expected up the main hotel lifts.
The room was nothing to rave about, but adequate for an overnight stay.
2 further complaints :
1/ No hairdryer in the room - 5 telphone calls later with redirection..I eventually got a porter to bring one but was presented with a bill in his hand asking for a #10,00 deposit! ( It was at this point that I lost my cool ... hair in towel ... no pen , no cash..as I was not warned about it when I enquired the evening before...I just grabbed it out the guys hand and shut the door!! )
2/ Breakfast - At opposite side of reception... I left my lugage with the porters ( after telling Receptionist at the desk about my bad experiences since arriving re no record of my booking when I arrived etc ). Arrived at breakfast and not allowed in without a room card, so back to luggage - they could have told me that when I was standing there at receptiobn. Very poor service I felt. << click here to read less |

I liked this hotel - it is very conveniently situated for the Russell Square tube station and Kings Cross main line. I have marked it down for cleanliness because when I got up in the morning I found 4 bed bugs despite the fact that the room and bed appeared very clean. It was most unpleasant. The hotel is situated on Guilford Street. If you arrive by tube at Russell Square station turn left out of the station and first left again into Herbrand Street. You will see the hotel at the end of the road.
The facilities of the hotel are average, tea and coffee provided in the room is limited. Bath towels are small and no hand towels provided. If you like a shower but don't want to wash your hair I would advise you take a shower cap as the shower head is not adjustable.
I have been to the hotel twice on the first occasion had a full English breakfast, self service with plenty to choose from.
On the second occasion, I had a continental breakfast which seemed to be limited to cereals, fruit, toast ; bread. I was slightly disappointed as I was also expecting the choice of coissants, cold meats and yoghurt.
I would choose the hotel again. << click here to read less |

The room had just been refurbished and was therefore very clean and fresh. The buffet breakfast was varied and plentiful ( we had the full english).
Staff were pleasant and very helpful. The housekeeper responded very quickly when our tv remote didnt work and replaced it immediately.
Only downside was that the towels were very small and limited. One small hand- towel only provided daily for showering etc. Otherwise, the location and facilities were very good. We have stayed there previously and will stay there again. << click here to read less |

The bathroomfacilities were oldfashioned. The fixed showersystem for a person with long hair, if you don't wont to wash your hair is very unconfortable. Different taps for cold and warm water are really oldfashioned, and you loose too much water by using them. I wonder how it is in wintertime with only one glass window!
Otherwise the personal was polite and the brekfast was OK. << click here to read less |

We have stayed overnight in London on many occasions and were slightly dismayed to read reports of the small rooms at the President's Hotel, though this was not the case for us on our recent visit. We were offered a room overlooking the park and the reception staff were friendly and could not have been more helpful. We would highly recommend this hotel. << click here to read less |

We love Bloomsbury / Russell Park and always try to stay in this area. We chose the the President Hotel only because our favorite hotel across the street was fully booked. This hotel is OK but the beds are narrow and pretty hard and the towels are small and too few. The first night we got three towels but then only two. Lighting consists only of fluorescent tubes which is good for reading but otherwise not very nice. No air condition (it it sometimes needed in the summer time) but the windows can be opened which is not always the case with British style windows. << click here to read less |

Much improved from our previous visit, before the refurbishment. We usually stay at the Russell next door, but were pleasantly surprised by the new look President Hotel room. However, only ordinary sized towels were provided, rather than bath towels and there was no hairdryer. In addition, the tea-making facilities only provided creamer, rather than the usual milk mini-cartons. Notwithstanding these comments, we thought the President was good value for money. << click here to read less |

If you forget the outwardly appearance (a little shabby) the interior is excellent, very clean and well run with polite and helpful staff. Good size quality rooms considering it was classified as standard. The bathroom was exceptionally clean and well maintained and the room was quiet which I needed. The price was right, I even got a full English breakfast (as much as I could eat). I would definitely stay here again when visiting London on business. << click here to read less |

Short stay on business. Hotel was selected on the basis of price, location and general amenities, and was more than satisfactory on all counts. Breakfast a bit pale if you are not into standard English fare, and it was a minor inconvenience to have to go down to the lounge to access a WiFi connection (as opposed to having access in the room). That said, for the price I thought it satisfied requirements and would use this chain again. << click here to read less |

We would not recommend this hotel. We were at first put in a very dirty, smelly room. The bed moved and the carpet was dirty. We complained
and were moved to a better room but we would definately not stay at this
hotel again. If we were tourist it would give a very bad impression of a London hotel.
We did not even stay for breakfast that we had paid for.

This is fairly a decent hotel. Room and the hotel had all the facilities published on the website. Staffs are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was ok however it would have been better if we had some variation on each day. Rooms don?t have internet facilities however in the lobby they have two computers where we could access internet with additional charges. Overall I would recommend this hotel to leisure travellers. << click here to read less |
