The younger members of staff on the reception desk are friendly and extremely helpful. I've stayed at this hotel three times this year and always felt very welcomed on arrival and departure. However, on this occassion there was a middle aged lady behind the reception desk and lets just say that she could do with some customer care training. Maybe she was having a bad day but to say that she was rude and her attitude left a lot to be desired is something of a understatement. That said, this was more than made up for by the two lovely youngster who checked me in. My thanks to - them - shame about the other person! Read Less |

I truly enjoyed my stay at Base2Stay. The room was exactly what I expected and the washroom even better. Thanks to the small kitchenette I was able to enjoy breakfast in the room with food purchased at the nearby Marks & Spencers. My room was ready when I got there (3 hours before normal check-in) and when I discovered that the in-room safe wasn't working, someone was there within 10 minutes to fix it. Truly great service. When I return to London, I will definately stay there. Added bonus... Earls Court Station has elevators and ramps so I didn't have to wrestle with my luggage up any stairs. Earls Court Station is also on the Picadilly Line making it extra easy to get to and from the airport. Read Less |

This hotel lived up to the other great reviews i had read. The staff were particularly friendly, helpful and efficient and the rooms well equipped. The location was perfect. I would definitely recommend to anyone requiring a place to stay without the commitment to having meals at set times during the day. We "self catered" and there were more than adequate facilities nearby to buy food or eat out. Read Less |

Our Double room was so tiny that we decided we could not stay in it for four nights - a late arrival and one night stay would have been ok. We asked to be moved to a larger room and they said one of their better rooms was available at a cost of #79. We took it as the first room was not much larger than our main bathroom but it cost a further #79 PER NIGHT for the larger room to walk a bed settee. For the #170 per night we ended up paying we could have had better accomodation nearer the centre - its a good 40 min walk to Park Lane and, hotel to Westminster is 30 mins by tube at #5.20 for an off peak day return. The taxi the hotel arranged for us to get back to the station was a dirty old car with no meter and the driver who was nearly asleep tried to charge us nearly double the cost of the taxi which took us to the hotel. The plus of the kitchen 'cupboard' will not make us stay there again. Read Less |

We recently stayed in the Base 2 Stay hotel, Earls Court. We found the staff very friendly and helpful, the rooms were modern, clean and comfortable, if a little small. The best thing was the location-just two minutes walk from Earls Court tube and five minutes from Gloucester Road tube. You have High Street Kensington, the Kings Road and central London just a short tube or bus ride away. We would definately recommend this hotel to friends and family and would stay there again. This place is something between a hotel and an appartment. Instead of a traditional breakfast room, there is micro oven and refrigerator in your room. Internet facilities in room via laptop (for a fee) or free in text-based mode via television (Rather primitive, but will do). Safe, bathtub in room. An extensive manual explains use of facilities in detail. Beds very comfortable. If you like the concept of preparing your own meals during a hotel stay this is a good place to be.
I was somewhat surprised that staff demanded to photocopy my passport at arrival. The view of mews with garbage containers is not exactly breathtaking, but I suppose nothing can be done about this. Read Less |
