Wore down and repairs obviously made by amateurs. Bad smell in bathroom due to bad plumbing, dirt and mould. A hole in the window filled in with toilet paper. Open electrical wiring just covered with a postcard - hazardous! Very small, very hot room. No hairdryer in room. TV works only on one channel. Good situated near Kensington- & Hydepark; just far enough from busy traffic of Baywaters. The Hotel is average; An old building with dated interior but with good beds and an elev. for higher floors! Apollo is a cheap budget hotel, and you get what you pay for. Rooms are small, and bathroom contains soap only. But it was clean and neat with fresh towels every day, and staff was friendly and service minded.
We had a late check-in but that didn't present any problems. Check-out is at 11 am, which a kinda early, but the hotel offers a luggage storage for 2 pounds only, so it's not a huge problem.
The location is absolutely great, and adds value to the stay. Apollo is located 5 minutes from Bayswater station and Queensway station, so you have access to three important underground lines - District, Circle and Central. And the Bayswater area itself is great too - lots of pubs and restaurants and shopping, and only a few stations away from Oxford St and Piccadilly Circus. Read Less

We stayed in the basement, next to the whole hotels plumbing. Ear-plugs ought to be provided by the hotel management. The floor was fixed in a poor way with some areas not covered by anything but plastic. Breakfast served between 7.30 and 9.30 daily. On our day of leaving we had to catch a bus at 8.00 am. At 7.35 there was still no sign of life in the restaurant. We had to leave without breakfast. Personal always at the counter, but most of the time talking in the phone and not able to "assist" if we had anything to ask. Other than that..................
Read Less

Hello
It was very good staying with you, really good hotel.
The negative points were about the noise of de doors and I would suggest the staff wear uniforms, they could be simple, and it would give more " face" to the hotel. I really like the breakfast. I want to be a guest at Apollo Hotel again.
Many thanks

Having spent a few days in the apollo, i can say that i am generally pleased with the facilities. They were what I was looking for. a not to expensive and clean place to sleep for a few hours. The only bad thing I can point is the room where I was put. It was in the basement next to some sort of generators that made a humming noise, but nothing that would not let you sleep. On the other hand, the rooms where clean and I have nothing bad to say about the staff. Read Less

I was disgusted by the place I stayed at. The hotel is the Apollo Hotel in Bayswater. The receptionist was rude, talking on the phone to a friend and taking no interest whatsoever in his guests. We were then given a twin room although I had booked a double. When I rang reception, they said all the doubles had been taken. I had booked two months in advance. If no double room had been available at the time, I would not have booked. My partner and I then decided to move the two beds together; when doing this we discovered all sorts of dirty things under the bed including a used handkerchief.
Our stay at that hotel was truly appalling. I do not understand how you can advertise places like that Read Less

I have read poor comments about apllo but didn't think that poor it was.
We arrived a bit earlier than the official check-in time, we have to either wait till the check-in time or pay the baggage storage charge 2 Pound each bag.
I got comfirmation from Roomsnet that we could have two room together non-smoke. Eventually, one room on roung floor and one one 3rd floor smoking rooms.
Telephone did not work. We checked in in the afternoon, the TV set was there, but when we got back the room, TV set was taken await. The reason given to me was a new one will be installed in the following day so the old one was needed to removed. It didn't make sense at tall.
In the following day we lefet the key to the receiption at 7:am and telling them they could get in clean up the room and we could come back to pick the bags at about 11:00am. The reception was really rough and siad, "I warn you, you come back after 11:00 even 1 minutes, I will charge you."
The TV set was taken away, the smoking room, the booken telephone ... don't you think if I come back a few minutes after 11:00 should be accept? right?

Due to some very negative comments was dreading staying here but personally thought most were unwarranted. Our tripple room was small but acceptable and clean, (although the net curtains were in desperate need of a wash). Breakfast was good and efficient. We enjoyed our stay and would definately go back. I won't be staying at this hotel ever again!! The room was no bigger than a closet. The beds and the pillows were like sleeping on rocks. The hot water for the shower never worked and when we told the front desk about the problem he acted as if we were lying. Finally, convincing him that there was in fact no hot water he came up to check the situation and we were then told that the reason that it was not warm was that the hotel was full and that it was cold because it was "safety water." What a piss poor excuse form a hotel that obviously doesn?t have a water heater that can support the hotel. When making a call outside the hotel you had to call to the desk to have them open up a line. This at first didn?t seem that bad but the longer we were there the more of an irritant that became. If there is a problem that a guest tells you about it needs to be taken seriously and if there is nothing that can be done then there needs to be some form of compensation offered, which there was none.
