We enjoyed our stay and were pleasantly surprised to find the hotel so close to Paddington station, and within walking distance to Hyde Park and even a leisurely stroll to Marble Arch and Oxford Street. The Big Red Bus had a stop on the street which meant we didn't have far to go to catch this for sightseeing. Breakfast was good, as you could have as much as you wanted, but the coffee was never hot enough (my only criticism). The concierge was alway friendly and helpful and I would stay here again, even though the room was small and the bathroom miniscule!!! but then I was told to expect this in London so can't complain. The rooms that you had provided for us, was extremly poor and bad, there was no heat in the rooms and it was not until the last day we were there, that you finally provided the rooms with heat. The only thing you provided us with when there was no heat, was only two blankets, which we are really unhappy about. We told the staff about the problems serveral times without any luck.

Taking into account that this is a budget hotel it offers very good service. the breakfast is quite sufficient if one does not expect an English breakfast and the staff are all very friendly and helpful. The room is spacious enough and clean. Because of the warm weather and no air conditioning we had to leave our window open at night, but we did not find the sound of traffic or passersby disturbing at all. We will definitely stay at Alexandra again and recommend it to others. Read Less

8 minutes walk to Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens. 10 min. to Oxford Street.

Paddington is a nice neighbourhood. Only 5 minutes walk from the tube.

Cleanliness was OK apart from build up of hair in shower drain. Breakfast was ordinary - OJ was watered down, coffee was strong and bitter, toast was soggy, no skim-milk option for cereal (which was placed at end of breakfast, uncovered into cupboard under servery) and the yoghurt was room temperature - could this not have been served on ice to keep it chilled before consumption? We were very pleased with the cleanliness and hospitality at the Alexandra Hotel. The front desk staff helped us with answers to every question and even questions we hadn't thought of, there was a wide selection of event brochures near the hotel lobby. This hotel is located within 2 blocks of the subway or bus lines making it very convenient (note that it is located on Sussex Gardens at London Street and Sussex Place on the East corner with entrance on Sussex Place). The area was quiet and comfortable with a small convenience store and internet cafe within 2 blocks. There was also a variety of pubs and restaurants within 3 blocks. We used Paddington and Lancaster Gate Stations depending on our travel needs. Our room was small but comfortable. We were pleased to find a 110 razor plug and hair dryer (we travelled from the USA and couldn't use ours), china tea cups and hot pot was supplied with coffee, tea, sugar and cream for our use and replaced every day. Fresh towels were also supplied every day and there was plenty of hot water for the small sized shower, just be patient and let the water run until it's hot (our room was on the second floor). Corridors are narrow, typical of older style hotels, the lift (elevator) worked most of the time. Breakfast was continental but sufficient. This quaint London hotel near Notting Hill is a great home away from home and we'll use it again in the future. Many thanks to the staff for making our first trip to London memorable! Read Less

El hotel esta a 100 m de la estacion de Paddington. El edificio es antiguo y sin ascensor. Escaleras estrechas que dificultan la subida de maletas. Mi habitacion estaba en la segunda planta y daba para patio interior. Tama?o justo para una twin room, y un ba?o diminuto en el que practicamente no te puedes mover. Estaba limpio y tenia tv, pero con solo 4 canales. El desayuno no era muy variado pero podias comer lo que te apeteciera (zumo, cafe, yogures, cereales, mermeladas, pan de molde y queso y jamon cocido). El personal del hotel no era muy servicial, y se dedicaban exclusivamente a recojer y entregarte la llave. Les costaba explicar tus dudas y no parecian tener un especial conocimiento de la ciudad.
A mi me costo 590? por 6 noches y como no lo encontre mas barato en el mismo sitio, puedo decir que esta razonablemente bien. Si se desea mejor servicio supongo que se debera pagar mas, aunque pagar mas no implique que te den un mejor servicio. Para ser finales de Set. no llovio ni hizo demasiado frio. Breakfast was okay.The room no. 255 was situated downstairs and very warm.Unfortunately it was not able to open a window, it was just tilted, therefore the air was very bad.The bathroom was very tiny looked unhygienical and the shower curtain dirty (mouldy).The personal didn`t clean the carpet during our stay and on Saturday the bed was not made.They didn`t clean the bathroom and the mirrors too.
We didn`t expect special services but making beds and cleaning the carpet and bathroom should be a standard service. We paid 260 Euro for a tiny and untidy room. We would never book the hotel again.

The cleanliness of the room was especially bad in the bathroom. The shower had alot of mildew and the shower head needed to be replaced. The beedspread needed to be cleaned or replaced as it was stained - alot, with some type of pinkish stain. These things made me apprehensive of the overall cleanliness of the room.
Another issue was that the windows wouldn't close completely either. We couldn't close them, much less latch them, not great for security. Those 3 situations overshadowed the confidence in the hotel in general. Although, the front desk people were very courteous, and the location was fantastic, I would have thought the room would have been better.
I would check your online site again, as I don't see that these issues are a direct result of your service exactly, but there certainly are worth mentioning.
