The state of the room was appalling, the floor had not been cleaned, small stones were on the floor and we could not walk in the room wuithout shoes. The tap dripped continually until i turned it off so hard that i do not think that the next resident would have been able to turn it on.The plug for the television set was loose and was in my opinion a fire hazard. The curtains would not close,i had to move a desk in the room so that i could stand on it and hook the curtains together. The room was badly decorated and you could see where things had been attached to the walls but had been taken down. The light switches were loose and one had to be moved up and down before the light would work. The toilets were so bad that the one i used i had to enter and stand next to the toilet bowl before i coulc close the door, the other toilets in that section were out of order. The showers were filthy and there were no locks on the doors. One of the lifts did not work when we tried to use it,there was no sign saying it was out of order so it may have been jammed. The carpet in our room was loose and not attached around the sink area. There was a hole in the bedspread. When we received our breakfast there was teabags, milk, and sugar to make a hot drink but we were told that to get a kettle to heat some water we had to phone an extension to get it.The toilets had a notice saying that they were cleaned every hour and a half but the same dirt and paper was lying on the floor at 7.45 am and still there at 11.0

We were satisfy! The location was excellent we were very happy about, the room very big and clean. Negative points: The employees at ck in desk not very kind and patiently. We pay for luggage store too much, so expensive we were very surprise! At the end,if we will come back to London we would choose again this Hotel!!Thank you for your e-mail !

The perfect thing about this hotel is the VERY central location at Piccadilly Circus! I saw previous comments about heating, towels and noise; heating was ok and for towels you just have to ring housekeeping to get big fresh ones. We were on backside, so no problem with noise. Breakfast (plastic box with croissant, bread, marmelade, fruit + orangejuice) is delivered in your room. Toilets and showers are not the cleanest in the world

FILTHY toilets / showers. The so called continental breakfast should be picked up in a small plastic box and consumed in the room !? 48% 04-Dec-2006

The location-price ratio of this hotel offsets the quality of rooms with shared bathroom. The hotel will be closing for remodeling very soon - hopefully it will better, but hardly will keep the same prices 60% 30-Nov-2006

Very nice spacious clean room with sink, comfortable bed, Tv and tea making facilities. Continental breakfast served in room. I have stayed at this hotel every year for about 30 years and it is always good value, and the location is fantastic.

I have stayed at the Regent Palace in the past and found it to be clean and good value for money. This visit was different. The hotel is due to close for good at the end of December and this probably explains that they don't care about the service they are offering any more. The toilets and showers were discusting and stunk. I heard many people complain to the cleaners about this but the response they got was a shrug of the shoulders. Shame because the location is excellent and the rooms are a good size to make a comfortable stay.

Overall, i personally enjoted the experience of my recent trip to London. The hotels location is excellent because its at the centre of London. My friends and i used the hotel as our base and didnt spend a lot of time there as we had originally thought. The "continental" breakfast was atrocious as well as the beds and the facilities. Saying that, the amount of money paid was not much, so basically you get what you pay for. I was not expecting the room and the hotel overall to be as shabby as it was, the facilities such as the toilet and showers could have been a lot cleaner and up to certain standards. May i also comment, that whilst waiting for the lifts i noticed that there where holes in the walls, big enough for rats to scurry through. The hotel could be improved on a lot more. Its a waste of a hotel as it is situated right in Picadilly. I hope that whoever buys the hotel improves on the facilities and sorts out all the shabbyness of it. It gives London a bad name.

I found the stay enjoyable. The only thing which annoyed me and my friends was the state of the hotel! At night time i found that other people staying in the hotel had no respect for others sleeping, the doors kept on banging really loudy, i hardly got any sleep on the first night. I also found the 'continental' breakfast very poor value for money. The bedrooms we stayed in had yellow stains splashed up the walls i found it absolutely disgusting. The beds were very uncomfortable and the blankets were itchy. I took my own just incase i needed them, i'm glad i did. Overall i found the hotel below basic. It provided me and my friends with the shelter we needed from the outside. There was no point though, we all might as well have slept outside for the amount of money we paid! The location was brilliant shame about the hotel!
