Staff in hotel itself nice and friendly Have to get the key after hours and have breakfast in hotel next door. Lots of narrow stairs and no lift - we were at the top..could be a problem for older people,anyone with mobility problems or lots of luggage. Great location. Easy access to central London, parks , restaurants and shops. Not really "newly" refurbished as advertised, decor is noticeably worn.Small, comfortable, clean rooms. Overall a good deal for the price-Recommended for tourist and those not needing children facilities or wanting to stay indoors a lot. ( not for people with mobility difficulties)

We were upgraded to the Phoenix hotel with no extra charge. I would highly reccomend the hotel. The price, service and location are excellent. I used the FindLondon customer satisfaction grading to select a hotel and was correct to do this.

The only problem was the reception desk closed at 7:00 and all transactions after that were handled by a hotel two doors down. The hair dryer was broken in our room which was a problem the first night (they admitted knowing it was broken.) They did bring us another hairdryer the next day. The lady at the reception desk was very friendly and extremely helpful. I would definitely return.

Minor bad points: ----------------- I stayed in a single room on two seperate occassions during the month of March. On both occassions the window was open and had some kind of wedge to keep it open (about 4 inches at the bottom). I couldn't remove the wedge to close the window and hence the room felt a little cold since the heating was off also. The TV signal wasn't clear in spite of the fact that it did have an aerial connection from the wall in the socket.If you arrive after 8pm then you have to go to the hotel next door to check in. Perhaps this information could have been provided on the web site. Good points: ------------ It's an excellant location and the quiet considering the location actually. The staff are really helpfull and freindly. The room has excellant quality considering the price. I would recommend the hotel.
