Not a bad choice. My single room was even tinier than others I've had in London, but was perfectly fine for a short stay: clean and attractively furnished. Good breakfast: breads, fruit, yogurt, cereal, real coffee. The location is excellent, near Kensington Gardens & the great ethnic eateries on Queensway, close to Paddington and several underground stations.
One thing to be aware of at this hotel: although my room was on an upper floor, I noticed that many of the rooms are on a basement level. You wouldn't know that by communicating with the hotel from afar, since they don't call the lower floor the basement. They call the ground floor the "Second Floor", which makes the basement the "First floor" (a term the Brits ordinarily use to denote what we in the US would call the second floor. Confused?). So that "First floor" room they offer you will in fact be in the basement. Ask for a room on an upper floor. More >> |
