Considering the location and frontage of the hotel in the prestigious Lancaster Gate area, I expected a lot more for the standard of the room. Old single framed metal windows and one small radiator, only switched on from 4pm every afternoon, meant the room was cold. I'd only give the room a 2* rating. Other than that, overall the hotel was what I'd call 'old school'.

our room was very small we could hardly move it was also on the top floor with no lift. b/fast had to be paid for and we were under the impression it was b/b. only continental was free, this benefited most guests who were continental so i feel we missed out.there was no restaurant or bar on a sunday night . on a scale of 1-10 i would only rate it a 3. london itself was fantastic and so much to see and do.

Nice basic hotel in great area of London. Comfortable and clean, but basic. Rooms are small, but adequate for vacation when spending significant time away from room sightseeing. Front desk staff could be friendlier, however are very competent.

Perfect location for a central london break... as long as the lancaster gate tube station is open! Currently it is closed for renovations. The hotel was ok, room was small but clean, service was not very professional but that wasnt really a problem. This was a reasonable solution to the problem of finding almost affordable accomodation in a safe and quiet part of london with reasonable access to the transport network.
