overall we enjoyed our stay and will stay there again in october. our one gripe would be the heating was excessive and opening the windows only let in traffic noise. this might be in escapable in london. the small cool air blower was usefull during the day but in the evening it was quite loud. thank you More >> |

Given the price of the room, we found it extremely small - in fact we had to walk sideways to get into the bed and could not pass at the bottom of the bed to get to the wardrobe. Had I realised the room was that small I would have booked somewhere else. More >> |

Staff did not relay repeated messages. A fax was sent, confirmed by sender with hotel staff and never delivered. This neglect resulted in a missed opportunity. When questioned, night staff was not responsive.
Great hotel, great location...it is sad that one staff member made this an unpleasant experience. More >> |

The staff was not particularly helpful to any degree, my requests for a simple iron and board to use briefly in my room were completely ignored. the bedspreads were terribly worn and the mattress was old and sagging in the middle. There was a teapot in the room, but no available place to plug it in except to sit it on the carpet by the wardrobe, and the most disconcerting disappointment was that the bathroom mirrow was so terribly low that standing upright one could only see one's torso from the neck down, one had to bend down quite far over the sink in order to actually see one's face in it, and I am only 5'9", so I can only imagine the contortion a 6" tall man would have to get himself into to have a proper shave using it. Also, to my grief, I was told there was wifi internet access available for a fee, which I paid, but the wifi signal was too weak to make a connection for all but 10 minutes during my 2 day stay, making it impossible to stay in touch with business communications. It's important to remember that we usually get what we pay for. If you are prepared for a "bargain" experience, you'll avoid disappointment. Hotel rooms in London are incredibly expensive. We paid a "bargain" rate and got the world's smallest hotel room; it was also a fairly inconvenient room. To make matters worse, we were there during the heat wave; we had no AC and the windows only partially opened.
But having said that, the hotel was clean, efficient...staff was courteous. The public areas were very nice (and were air-conditioned). It wasn't the hotel's fault that temps were 20 degrees above normal. In fact, they delivered a fan to our room without us asking.
In the future, I would upgrade my hotel choice. But, if I was restricted to the same budget we had for this trip, I would choose this hotel again. More >> |

The size of my room was good for a Central London hotel of its category. Haviong said that, it didnīt have even a small desk s, nor any Info Sheet on hotel services. The Coninental Breakfast was just a little below standard for similar hotels. Anyway, overall I would say the Blakemore is good in its category. More >> |

| The room we stayed in wasn't double glazed so sound could be heard from the street below. The actual room and hotel were fine and comfortable. |

Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Room was immaculately clean. Hyde park was at the end of the road and provided a marvelous escape after a hard days work! Easy access/short walks to lots of restaurants and late night retail therapy. Plan to return for a more leisurely trip. More >> |
