Hotel is alright with good services and good location.
However, really noisy in the morning.

Although this is not a new, modern hotel, we found the accomodations to be quite charming, the linens to be very crisp and white, and everything in working order. The elevators were very small, holding only a maximum of four people, so if you are claustrophobic, that might bother you. The staff were very hospitable and cordial. I would definitely stay here again. It was a great bargain ! << Click here to read less

The room ; beds were comfortable and clean, except for the carpeting which was a bit dinghy. Kitchen area was adequate. A friend and I stayed 4 days but after the 2nd day the bedspread was balled up on top of the cupboard and was not put on the beds again. My 2 friends staying in another room said that there was never any bedspread on their beds and the wall paper was peeling. These things should be corrected. Lounge area off the reception was bare and uninviting. The walk to the nearest tube station (Paddington) was too far, about 4 blocks. << Click here to read less

This apartment style hotel was outstanding in terms of location, facilities offered (kitchen w/ microwave), and price/value. It is located only about 5 blocks from Paddingon tube (subway) station. There was a small kitchen w/ utensils in every room. Additionally, there is a living room area with a small sofa, coffee table, small dining table, and television all separated by doors from the bedroom- much like an apartment. (we had rooms w/ 3 beds in each that offered this setup but in a room w/ just 1 bed, it's arranged like a studio apartment w/ everything in the one room) In terms of value, this place can't be beat as I've checked all around including hostels. Only gripe is that the beds were small (twin size) but that is pretty normal when in Europe. From the reviews, I was concerned w/ the availibility of hot water for bathing and noise but these were not an issue. Overall, this place cannot be beat and we would stay in it again. << Click here to read less

I would have rated quality of service higher, but for the poor english and resulting attitude of the reception staff.
Upon checking out, and asking if I could have a printed receipt/invoice, I initially received no more detailed reply than "No Sir"!! It took several more attempts and a second receptionist before they felt I deserved a reason! (This being that my online booking serves as my receipt, as they invoice the booking agent. I still find this a little odd.)
Otherwise, an older gentleman (who I assumed to be the owner) was much more welcoming and engaging. An in-house car journey was provided to a venue at very short notice and at a fair price.
The room was good, especially at the price provided by FindLondonRooms.com, although a missing toilet door lock should be replaced!
Overall, a satisfactory visit made better by excellent value for money. << Click here to read less

The staff was friendly but the room did not match up with the picture on the internet. It was definitely much smaller than the picture, etc, led us to believe. The room was clean but the carpet in the whole hotel is old and needs replacing. The location is close enough to Paddington but not as close to the West End as the advert makes it sound. Overall, for the price, it is a good deal. << Click here to read less

I stayed at this place 10 years ago, and nothing has been done to the place since. it's old and english look hides a poor building structure and bad odour. The whole building is on the verge of collapsing. the floors are uneven and crooked. I don?t even want to know whats it looks like under the thick somewhat moist carpet.
Whatever you do, whatever floor you are on , every plank squeeks, so if you get up early or in the middle of the night, you will wake up the neighbour below you and beside you at least.
The two elevators is a chapter to itself. One can take 300 kilos and the other 600 kilos, but both sound as if they are going to snap on the line and we will be having a free fall very shortly. it does not give you a sense of a secure elevator at all. with a suitcase or heavy backpack you are kind of dependent on it, especially if you are going to the 4th floor.
The rooms vary in sizes, but mainly nothing is totally in place.
There are wholes everywhere, rotten planks and boards, it smells moldy, the floors are too uneven and crooked to be caled charming.
We discovered mice in the second apartment we had(this is written may 18th 2005!). They didnt want to give us another room, or tried to fix it, or even offered an apology for that. Not even upgrading the room, allthough i dont think their bigger rooms are any better.
we finally managed to get another temporarily room for the night, and the next morning we came downstairs and they had "fixed the problem". I asked how and if they caught the mouse, and they say "we fix room, not problem anymore". we went back to see and it had been foamed up , so the wholes and cracks contained foambubbles.
We have slept on the 1st, 3rd and 4th floor, and i do NOT recommend this hotel/apartment complex to anyone. Not even backpackers!!
They fix every problem with either glue or that yellow foam but they dont do anything to the main problem. this place should have been closed a long time ago, and restructured. It needs a huge repair and they need to replace planks, carpets, floors, doors, windows, elevator(s) and walls.
if you have poorer healthcondition do not even think about staying here. it is NOT worth the price!!! << Click here to read less
