We only stayed for 1 night in this hotel ; for that i am very glad. we were on the 6th Floor ; in a back room ; did not get a wink of sleep all night. from the moment we got into bed ; turned off the TV the first thing you could hear was running water. it turned out to be water running through the waste pipes through the waste system obviously running from floor to floor, but the most annoying thing was out in the back area where someone was emptying bottle skips, sorting through them ; putting them into the empty crates ; the glass bottles that were for waste were thrown ; smashed into another skip. This went on all night Non stop,; it was still going on when we went down for breakfast the following morning at 7.30am( where all the bottles come from i have no idea, it must have been a central area where all the local hotels used).
another bad thing about this hotel was just the little extras that should have been there but were sadly missing. we had a Twin room bookede ; the tried to get us to take a double, and as we were Mother ; daughter this was not what we wanted ; we would not accept this ; stuck out for a Twin.
usually in a twin or double room you get supplied with 2 flannels ; there was only one.
there was only 1 little bar of soap
1 shower cap
Just littlw things like that
The Window would not open at all ( the catch was broken)
The room size was very very small.
I would not say this was a bad hotel but there are definatley much much better ones to stay at << Click here to read less

Lovely hotel in FANTASTIC location ideally placed for Covent garden ; the West end - let down by the very poor service at breakfast.
Not enough staff, only 3 waiters ; one Manager serving a full restaurant. Even when we were served, the service was poor - cereals but no bowls provided, tea brought but no milk, toast served but no butter provided which resulted in trying to get a waiters attention AGAIN and further delays.....need I say more?!! << Click here to read less

Staff were very pleasant ; helpful, but when we arrived our room was not ready and the bar was very smokey.
When we arrived for breakfast there were no free tables and once again we had to sit in the smokey bar.
The windows in the bedrooms at the front of the hotel could also do with additional soundproofing as our room was rather noisy, with party goers until the early hours and then refuse workers making lots of noise from 6.30 onwards. << Click here to read less

Loved the size of the room for london is was a pleasure, the hotel is in a quiet area that is in walking distance to theatre district and covent garden. the only negative aspect of my stay at the kingways way hall was the lack of communication with the staff. I found the front desk staff to be not helpful at all. I switched rooms after my first night stay because of a loud banging noise that came from the air conditioning in the bathroom, so they switched my room and the new room was quiet but had no air conditioning at all.
the security safe was also broke and requested for it to be fixed, they sent up a helpful bloke but never completed fixing it, therefore the rest of my stay i did not have a safe. Having spent time in london, i don't think that i would let the negative deter me from staying at the kingsway hall again. I enjoyed the size of the room and for london that is a pure luxury.
stay there but just be careful to communicate with the staff carefully...

We were VERY pleased with the Kingsway Hall Hotel. We chose it for it's closeness to the theaters, but we were unaware of what a nice, comfortable, up-to-date hotel it is. The rooms may be small, but with 2 comfortable chairs, and good computer connections etc, we could never complain. We also found an added attraction to be the location. No taxis are needed for most theaters, but there are also some very nice and unique restaurants within easy walking distance, perfect for late night suppers. Lastly, it is QUIET!!! A hotel in the center of Leicester Square would have to be surrounded by the late night sounds of lots of happy people, but the short walk away from the noise was indeed what these 2 tired visitors wanted. We will definitely return to the Kingsway. << Click here to read less
