Comfortable bed and no noise, especially if you ask for a room at the rear of the hotel, you can't hear anything! Plenty of places to eat near by and only two minutes from the British museum.
five minute walk to the tube station and also very well placed for theatres.

We went to Park Inn hotel (formerly Bonnington) stayed for the 5/5/2009 night in London. We requested a nice room and qiuet as we were celebrating our wedding annivesary, the hotel gave us exactly what we requested, in spite of we paid a standard price and we appreciate this very much indeed. The hotel was brilliant, very clean, lovely room and location and staff service was excellent ( we asked about TV just a simple request wich can be done by phone, instead and within 2 minutes only they sent us one of their staff to explain) and we thought that was a top class service. The breakfast was excellent with many choices in a lovely restuarant place. No complain and we definitely stay again in this wonderful hotel .... very strongely recommended << Click here to read less

very pleasnt stay. Room was extremely comfortable as was the bed.It was ideal for our one night stopover. The location very handy for theatre land.
The only critisms I might have was the view of the inner courtyard. That is only because when we stayed before when it was the Bonnington we had a room overlooking Southampton Row, so perhaps we were spoiled. The only other thing was that it appeared the dvd player was not connected properly, but as we did not use it, it was not a problem.
The breakfast was superb and the Head waitress very friendly and polite. << Click here to read less

The Staff were very friendly. The basin plug did not work and the basin had to be drained by manually removing the plunger plug. The room was rather cold on arrival (outside temp zero) due to the air conditioning being on, so that was not very welcome. This hotel is great! The location between two tube stations and the number of bus routes in the direct area makes it a great place to stay!Nearby the British museum and some fine parks give you some time to relax in this exciting city!
The rooms are of a good size and are clean and facilities are great too!You can make you're own cup of tea or coffee and there is a flat screen television and the rooms all have air condition. There is a iron and iron board and a small safe.
Staff are very helpful and friendly. The food is great!Breakfast is wonderful!Full English if you wish or continental the choice is yours! There is bread, rolls pastries ,fruit and you can eat what you want as much as you want.
Look no further but stay in this hotel we've done it for the 12th time now and the only negative thing we came across were the water bottles we normally got every day weren't given anymore.

Same helpful ; friendly staff as when this was called The Bonnington, but sadly some things have changed. Only executive rooms merit a 40 pence bottle of water and sheets and towels rough and starched not like the fluffy white towels and fine cotton I used to look forward to. The Bonnington is now called Park Inn. When I booked it was called The Bonnington but when I arrived it had changed and I had not been notified.
I had some problems with the unprofessional manner of the reception staff. My safety deposit box didn't work and I had to chase them to look after it for me. The room was small but had a very nice bathroom. The dining room where I had breakfast was very crowded and I had to queue for a while to get my food. When I arrived the fruit was finished. Overall the hotel needs to do alot of refurbishing of the common areas and staff to live up to their 4 stars. Location is excellent, beside Russell Square and 10 mins walk to Covent Garden. << Click here to read less

The room wasnt available when we arrived at 1pm and the staff tried to separate my mother and i into separate rooms, even though we had booked a twin room. We insisted we wanted to stay together and was then told the room wouldnt be ready until 4pm. We decided to go for something to eat and as we sat down to eat the reception staff rang my mobile phone to advise they had a double room available. It wasnt the twin room we had booked but it was better than nothing especially as we had to get ready and out again to get to a concert scheduled for 6pm. The Concierge was excellent and always happy to help and made our trip to London easy and with his help we manageged to fit more sightseeing in as he organised and gave us directions for the attractions we wanted to see. The start of the trip was poor (room not being ready and incorrect room given) but we didnt let this spoil our trip and as a hotel the Bonnington was beautiful and i will visit again. When we got to the hotel we were shown to our room. First we had to go to a building site were the workers needed to show us were to go. The room was very old and the tv were lower than the bed. The bathroom small and some cracks around. We took one look at it and decided that we will not stay there. We were upgraded to a 4 star room at a much higher cost. The room was lovely with 2 flatscreen tv's and a comfortable bed,had enough space for clothes and was clean. However the warm water in the bathroom took 10 minutes to get warm!!! Had the hotel to look at it and the answer was that it was just the way it was. Send a shirt to be ironed and it came back without cufflinks which is still missing. Spoke to the general manager about this and he dismissed all the issues as "small". I am sorry, but the small things is what make the difference. The only service that was up to scratch was the breakfast and the service at the breakfast. All in all not the best experience!!! << Click here to read less

Have stayed here a few times over the years now - gets better every time. The room refurbishments are excellent and the staff are much better than they were a few years ago. Only small critism and that may be due to the room refurbishments not quite being complete - the TV based internet application did not work - or at least I couldn't get it to and I do work in IT. Maybe if the room info had said "not quite yet"?Oh and can we have radio 4 please? Having said that it is in all ather respects exellent. Ideal location - just take a short walk up the road on the same side, towards Russell Square and take a walk down some of the side lanes towards Queen Square - the small pubs and eating places down there are great and well worth a viist. The Swan is paricularly good - for atmosphere, the beer and food. << Click here to read less

Nice hotel situated near Theatre Land. Says that the rooms are ready for check in at 2.00pm but not the case, was still waiting at 3pm so they offered me an upgrade to a Superior Room. Nice room but very small and compact. Bathroom looks lovely and the shower looks nice but there is no water pressure. They are undergoing major building works and it is very noisy during the day and at weekends there is a sign n reception which tells you the times that the workmen are working. << Click here to read less

My husband and I stayed at the Bonnington for a week on holiday. The room was very clean and tidied daily. The breakfast (included in our room charge) was quite adequate and despite showing up at various times, we never had to wait for a table. The concierge was helpful and provided us with a bus map and brought a phone book to our room when we requested it. We were able to store our luggage before check-in. Our room was quite reasonably sized though I did catch a glimpse of some single rooms that seemed tiny. I would stay there again. << Click here to read less

The room I stayed in was over warm: easily solved by opening the window which is not always possible in some hotels. There were no instructions on the usage of the TV/radio and it was until I left that I finally sussed it. However not a major problem. My main criticism was an incessant whine, whether mechanical or due to plumbing I could not discern. This was irritating and kept waking me during the night. The result was that I felt very tired and very stressed the following day which was not a good start for the days business. I would not therefore recommend that particular room / hotel (242) as it spoilt my visit. << Click here to read less

In my view, the Bonnington is the best value hotel in the area (Bloomsbury and surrounding area), providing you can get a discounted rate - and I've tried quite a few! The public areas, including the restaurant for breakfast, are superior to what one normally gets in a 3-star hotel in a convenient area in London; the rooms are clean (and mostly freshly painted/decorated). << Click here to read less

The only good thing about this hotel is the location. The room was rear facing. There is no double glazing, so noise is a real problem. The old windows also let in that much cold air that the heating system is rendered useless and the room was freezing cold. The deliveries to the hotel started at 06.30am, so sleep after then was impossible. I would not recommend this hotel. << Click here to read less

We got into London for 11 and could book in straight away so that was a nice surprise. The hotel was very nice, looked lovely and the receptionists were helpful and polite. The room was nice and had everything we needed. It wasn't massive but then I wasn't in London to spend the weekend in the hotel room. Bathroom was very clean and bed was really comfy. Had a meal in the bar on the evening and it was surprisingly cheap, big helpings and lovely well cooked food. Breakfast in the morning was also lovely, full cooked breakfast, lots of different types of cereals and breads, tea, coffee, different meats and cheeses, fruit juices, yoghurts, fruit salad. All in all a lovely stay. Would reccomend to everyone! Thank you Bonnington :) If anyone would like to see some pictures taken of the room please feel free to email me on: atticusbrokenheart@hotmail.com << Click here to read less

The staff were universally surly and unwelcoming The breakfast was unspeakable, cheap ingredients eg tinned mushrooms revolting sausage all lingering endlessly on buffet. The phone in my room did not work at all throughout my stay. I had a single aroom and it was tiny. The keycard did not work properly making entering the room very slow. I hated this hotel really hated it. I went straight from the Bonnington to the Ramada at Brighton and it was like entering awhole new world.
