Overall we really enjoyed our stay. The room was clean, a good size (2 bed apartment) and had clean towels at least every 3 days. Ceiling fans weren't great but we took our own fans as well so was OK most of the time. New entertainment programme this year apparently and there was plenty of activities for adults and kids.One of the tennis courts has been turned into a football pitch so we had a few matches with aduts and kids which was good fun. Life guards were a bit hit and miss over allowing inflatables in the pool, one was so bad we complained and at least got rubber rings allowed in (the hotel doesn't officially allow any in but most days it was OK). Some of the reception / bar staff were a bit blunt at times but not enough to stop us having a really good holiday. << Click here to read less

BASIC, thats the word that sums up the montemar. or the saying you get what you pay for. we needed some where to stay for a couple of nights before we moved into our villa and we thought the montermar sounded good and even better cheap, and thats just what it was.it was 3 in the morn when we arrived and we was hungry and thirsty we was told there was nowhere for us to get anything and they had nothing there for us either not even any water. because of this i ended up with a very bad dried out throat which last for several days. the rooms where very clean but very basic. the beds were very uncomfortable like sleeping on cardboard boxes covered in sandpaper plus no air con in any room and having 4 people in 1 apartment was like being in a sauna.the kitchenette was a corner badly equipped and hob didn't work. the food was uneatable and always cold, it gave 1 of our group bad stomach for a couple of days.
we had to return to the montemar for 1 more night after our villa and we was not looking forward to it. when we arrived we was told they was over booked and we had to be moved to another complex in a "NEAR" by town, even though we had confirmed our last night with them before we left the weekend before. it took over an hour to find. if you want cheap, basic and bad backs from bad beds go for it.we would not go back!!!!! << Click here to read less
